Was a legend at Coventry and came to us at the end of his career.

Chunky and experinenced made him an ideal captain. Was not at the Albion too long due to his veteran stage, but I believe he went on a few years in coaching/scouting jobs for various clubs.

RIP.

He was a decent midfielder and didn't just come to the Albion to see out his career on a cushy number like some other players of that era. He bossed our midfield before Nobby came along and took over.

Apologies for bouncing but I see the club's website has just cauught up with this. NSC reports it on 23 July, BHA finally reports it on 15 August!

He played in my first BHA game!

RIP Ernie a very good player for us , so sad it is amazing how players back in the day ie the 70's never age in your memory after they leave the club until their are pics when someone passes away.

Next to Fred Binney in both team pics and with another Coventry great Willie Carr.
