The original (none single edit) version of All By Myself is sublime... ok - it owes much to classical music, but it's the perfect downer broken hearted song... vocally it's perfection and musically too... a wonderful and beautiful legacy.

Eric Carmen truly was "All By Himself" as far as song writing and singing (not signing) talent.

It was Mike Scott (The Waterboys) and that sang Whole of the Moon. Karl was a member of the band for a couple of years around that time.
