I'm disppointed that we've loaded the team with batting and only have Monty and 3 seamers, so this looks like being another high-scoring test match.

If Vaughan gets a score and stays fit, and Flintoff returns, then Strauss's place is looking shaky.

I wouldn't be inclined to drop Collingwood for the sake of another seamer. The tail end is long enough as it is without having, say for arguments sake, Anderson coming in at 7.

Having looked closer at our bowling line-up I reckon that's the worst English attack since the days of the early 90s when our attack was Martin McCague, Mark Ilott and a crocked Neil Foster.

The only decent things about cricket are:

1. Getting pissed.

2. Reading the TMS dialogue on the BBC.
where is the TMS dialogue? (link?)

McCague and Ilott only played two tests together and neither of them ever played in a test match with Foster. I don't think any of the current crop are anywhere near as bad as it was in those days. We also had such bowling legends as Peter Such, Martin Bicknell, Alan Igglesden and Peter Martin playing at around the same time. Oh the horror of it all.

Not forgetting the evergreen Mike Watkinson. :thud:

Or Richard Illingworth, whose selection was, of course, in no way influenced by his uncle being chairman of selectors.

Mark Lathwell, Richard Blakey, TIm Munton, Joey Benjamin, Alan Wells ( :( ) and Steve James.

The list is endless! No wonder the 90s were barren years!

I thought we were limiting ourselves to shit bowlers.
