England won the toss and chose to bat first.

Alex Hales 100* (83 balls, 11 fours, 3 sixes) :clap2:

166-1 (25 overs, RR 6.64)... looking like a BIG total for England here.

I hope Hales goes on here, the score could be huge.

Still don't know why Bairstow isn't in this side, though I do struggle with who to drop.

There is indeed an embarrassment of riches in the batting positions... Morgan would have been the most vulnerable until his last innings... now it is hard to see who can be dropped, but it is probably still him.

Always liked Hales

I think getting int he test team has affected peoples perception of him in One Day cricket. He is a brilliant one day batsman and has had some pretty nice innings recently.

Fair play to him for not letting the criticism get to him

Alex Hales 171* (121 balls, 22 fours, 4 sixes), now the highest individual score for England in an ODI, passing Robin Smith 167* v Australia at Edgbaston in 1993.

England 281-1 (36.5 overs)
