england v cameroon, around 1992. think it was a draw

I went to that one, went on an organised coach trip from Brighton with Keith Prowse Travel.

The driver got lost and we missed the first half. We ended up running through the streets of Wembley to get to the stadium.

Idiot.

Does anyone know when the tickets for the England v Brazil game go on sale? It's on Thursday 31st May.

My first ever game at the old Wembley was England v Brazil in 1987 in the Rous Cup so it would be nice to complete the circle.

Is this the senior club, playing at Wembley? What exactly is the fixture?

England's first proper game in front of 90,000.

My first game at wembley was a schoolboys international aroundn 1972 I think. Clive Walker played (just hold that image for a moment - Clive Walker as a schoolboy)

But the first full internatiional was England v Brazil in 19 April 1978 for an appalling 1-1 draw.

My first was England 2 Scotland 1 in 1986 - diving header by Hoddle the highlight.
Last one at the old Wembley was Manchester United 2 Newcastle 0, Teddy coming off the bench to clinch the second part of the Treble.

In between were Spurs winning two, losing two, plus all of Euro 96 except the Holland game (doh!) - and plenty of other rather random experiences - Liverpool-Sunderland in the FA Cup, Bristol Rovers-Tranmere in the Leyland Daf, Wolves-Preston in the Sherpa Van, and, most prestrigious of all, Notts County-Brescia for the Anglo-Italian Cup!

First game at Wembley was for an inter-varsity game, must have been around 82/83, think the crowd was about 15k, went back again for the game the following year when there were about 25k there. Not much for a game at Wembley but as far as I remember they were entertaining games with plenty of goals, think they later moved the match to Craven Cottage on the same day as the boat race but it doesn't draw anything like the crowds it used to.
