football and cricket are both huge passions for me. I have tried for many years watching rugby on the box but to be honest I just cannot get into it, always pleased when England win though. Maybe its because I've never played it unlike football and cricket.

Eng-ger-land at the old and new Wembley stadiums.
England v West Indies (of Marshall, Lloyd, Garner et al) at Lords, plus some more recent stuff.

I reallySHOULD make the effort to see a Calcutta Cup match or something, at Twickenham.

I have done them all. For me the footie was the most dissapointing but that was a couple of friendlies in mid-90s.

Been to one England Football match, vs West Germany in about 1982/83 sometime (Old Wembley), school run a trip and it was on my Birthday.
Been to 7-8 England Rugby games, primarily at Twickers, but also in Dublin and Italy.

Would like to go to a Cricket game at some point, for the atmosphere.

Cricket wise, I seem to go when something odd happens - I was at the Centenary test in 1980 when there was the "altercation" on the pavillion steps and I was also at the bomb scare test in 1973, but was very young so only remember my Dad walking me onto the pitch along with everyone else!!

Not odd, but my brother took me to the Oval to watch the West Indies - watching Michael Holding bowl was just awesome. We were sat in with hordes of West Indian supporters, one of whom spent most of the day shouting "Gatting, are you with the Woolwich?". He never answered.

Only been to England vs Italy in the 6 nations 2 years ago. It was ONE HUNDRED times better than what I would imagine an England footy match to be.

The atmosphere was BRILLIANT. Friendly, intelligent (rather than "DONT PLAY IT BACKWARDS DICKER"), and able to drink throughout. We were sat next to Italians and it was just a fantastic atmosphere. Desperate to go again.

As much as I prefer football to rugby, I totally agree with all of your points about watching a rugby match live.

All of them.

Football - pretty much every England game at Wembley for 20 odd years, plus 3 World Cups, 1 Euros and lots of away qualifiers. Stopped after the Euros in 2000, although I have been to the new Wembley to see a couple of Internationals.

Cricket - Test Matches at Lords and The Oval.

Rugby - only once, but it was in the World Cup v New Zealand at Twickenham.

Football and cricket for me. I used to go to the old wembley alot from the 80s til they knocked it down. I went to the euros in sweden in 92 and had the time of my life.

Cricket wise, i've done all of the test venues apart from trent bridge, and went on tour to sri lanka in 02.

Going away following England have been the best holidays i've ever had.

Football and cricket, done away tours with both.

Watched england at Euro 2000 and 2004 and WC 2006 + lots of qualifiers.
Done cricket tours to Sri Lanka and the Windies + all the main test grounds except Old trafford, but hoping to tick that off at next years' Ashes.

I've done all 3, have to say the cricket and the rugby were better, we could have a drink whilst watching. In actual fact, the cricket was brilliant, because I got pissed, fell asleep, and woke up just as England were coming in to start their second innings (this was England v NZ at Trent Bridge, a whitewash as I recall!!). You can't do that at the football!!!

I have done all 3 but only seen a friendly in Rugby (v Argentina at Twickenham). Would love to do a 6 nations game.

Have seen many England football matches, home and away and on the cricket front been on two Ashes away tours and also to South Africa. 3 brilliant trips when England were not very good!
