Read the room? They booked and paid for the seats so they should sit in them! If they refuse to budge then get the stewards involved.

You misunderstand what I'm saying. Sometimes everyone sits where they want and then it becomes impossible to police.

Always get to the away ground early, and then up to my seat. Never had a problem so far. Never leave it until last minute

It’s like when you’ve paid for extra space on a long haul flight and got your own row thinking you can have a good sleep… then 30 mins into the flight someone tries to move in one of your spares.

I've been to pretty much every away game since we got promoted and we have always sat in our seats. If people are our seats we have always got them to move. You will always get some idiots that try the old 'it's sit where you like' approach but it doesn't work with us, it shouldn't. When the away end is sold out, which it invariably is, it would be anarchy if everyone just sat where they chose.

I always head to the seat I've booked - rarely any issues.

Last season at Spurs someone said I was sitting in their seat.
I showed them my ticket and i was in the right one.
10 minutes later she came back with a steward and apparently we both had the same ticket assigned.
They moved me back a few rows to a vacant seat

Never heard of that before.
I assume it was a system glitch.

Once a few people sit in the wrong seat and refuse to move then there’s a snowball effect. It’s left to the decency of people not to take advantage of fellow Albion (or England) fans. Sadly we have a number who just dont, or aren’t in a state to care.

And Chelsea away seems to have developed into a "all my mates are standing/sitting in the singing
area, I'll squash in with them" situation.

I don't know if I'm showing my age, I was lucky enough to get a Cat 1 ticket for Sunday night, given the occasion, we gave ourselves plenty of time getting to the Olympic Stadium.

We had a slight issue when the Politzei told us when tried to get in our specific entrance, L4, that we couldn't because it was 'full'.

Eventually got in to get to our respective seats, to find two knuckle draggers, akin to Dick Emery and Roy Kinnear's classic skinheads of the 1970's, we said.

"You're in our seats Gents"

To which the 'Dad' replied "Its England mate you sit where you can"

My companion, a little more forthright than me, retorted "We've paid for these seats, not for you to sit in them"

Dad again replied "But we've already moved three f****** times!"

Guess what they moved a fourth

In the aftermath of Sunday a couple of people on the way home said we were fortunate to get them to move, one bloke I met on the train yesterday had paid face value for his seat but his seat had been taken by one of the more robust members of the England support and he just didn't want the hassle.

Question is NSCers were we right or are we out of touch?

For the few Albion away games I go to nowadays I'm always sat in my designated seat.

And I've sat in the same seat since the opening of the Amex, there are on occasions empty seats nearby, if I turn up for the Utd game and I find someone sitting in my seat, I'm naturally going to ask him to move, so why should England be any different?

I went to quarter final and semi final and on both occasions they were category one seats and I had to ask people to move. The England support does sadly have an element that are just coked up piss takers. Fortunately those I moved on wee easily moved and politely apologetic. It was also a long way before kick off so no doubt they trundled off somewhere else and tried it on again.

For Brighton away games I must admit I have less sympathy if you rock up two mins before kick off and expect your own seat, but equally I always sit in my designated seat. As we now take a full allocation generally it is really only fair to sit in your own seat.

Edit: also I'd add cat 1 seats are not necessarily better seats! UEFA are total rip off merchants. But cat 1 is better than no seat.

There can be a few variations but generally I agree that if it's sold out then you go to your allocated seat.

Games where I would absolutely kick someone out of my seat - any with crap or restricted view where I'd specifically picked a seat for the view. Games where I don't give a shit - general free for alls like Ajax or unallocated anyway like Roma.

Some of this is caused by loyalty tiers. While I agree with them and how ours specifically works it does mean that in big groups travelling together there may be some in a different window to others who have therefore had to take what's left of the tickets. I don't agree that all ten of them should then squash into 5 seats but I can see why they'd want to.

I would add that I'm quite happy to move a few seats or swap places so a group can be legitimately moved together. For example, at Sheffield United in the cup game me and the boy moved down three seats and a dad and lad moved from there into ours so they could be with another group.
