Just seen that the England School boys will play France School boys on Saturday 13th June.
My very first England game was to a school boys match many years ago on a school trip.
Excellent news I thought .....these game being back at Wembley....but and a massive BUT is that tickets are £24 - what a total and utter utter rip off. Even with full group discounts they will be £17.
From the ESFA website :
"The English Schools Football Association is conscious that since the
first Schools International Match at Wembley Stadium in 1950, the majority
of the crowd at the events has been primarily youngsters who travel in groups to the games with their school, scout group or youth football club. With this in mind, it has always been the policy of the ESFA to fit the ticket price
for these games at a level which is affordable by the young spectators
given that there are always additional costs in terms of travel etc.
The ticket price for the forthcoming match versus France at the New
Wembley Stadium has been fixed by the ESFA bearing in line with this
policy, but subject to the restrictions imposed by the commercial hire of the
stadium. We hope that the ticket, with generous discounts for group travel, will keep the opportunity to make their first visit to the new stadium within reach of many young footballers and supporters."
