That's outrageous. People should just not buy it and get a retro one but you know some will be happy to splash out.

England home match shirts only £114.95

I know it isn’t as good a story. But the shirt is £75. The £115 one is the ‘match’ shirt or whatever

Is that how Maguire gets in the team? He buys the match shirt.

So, to summarise my understanding, nike's 'top' teams (International teams, Chelsea, Liverpool) get a better quality 'performance' shirt that players wear on match days, which they charge a lot of money for. They then sell a cheaper 'stadium' version of the shirt for fans.

We (I'm talking about Brighton and Hover Albion now, not England) are not a top tier nike team, so our players wear the same 'stadium' quality shirts as the fans.

So far, so good. But £75 for a shirt that is the same quality as the ones we sell for £55 is really steep.

Is that true ? Our players don’t get better shirts than what is in the club shop ?

Good old Daily Mail style sensationalising, the kit is only £75, unless you are made of money and for some reason want to buy a players specification shirt at £114.95.

They literally cut and paste this exact same piece, every single time a new England shirt is launched!

Yes, that's correct. Don't think we've had 'Player Spec' shirts since maybe Admiral, or prior to that Ribero and Sports Express.

Blimey that’s surprising. I’ve got a match worn shirt from last season on my wall but never really looked at it before it was framed but assumed it would be a different spec
