Was watching on laptop with no sound and it took me nearly a minute to realise England weren’t in white 😂🤦‍♂️
I spent the entire 1st half of the Playoff final between Crawley and Crewe thinking Crawley were in red
Right down to being mildy disappointed when Crewe "scored". In my defence, I was reading the paper in a pub and only half watching.

No thread for the big warm up???

A bit of a slow burner so far impressive cameos from Eze and Watkins in the battle for the last few squad places.
It was emotional, was it not? Harry Kane. What a guy.

Hate to say it, but Wharton and Eze were excellent.
I still have the opinion Eze is a flat track bully.
He looks incredible when given time and space..
He will do well at international level, where most games are against much weaker teams, than he will face in the Prem.

I haven't seen enough of Wharton to pass a comment, but from what I hear., Palace have picked up a gem.
But that can't be right, as I keep on being told, there are no bargains available in the January window.

If there is a more overrated current England player than Maddison then I haven’t seen him.
Agree he is a little shit but more overrated than Grealish..?
Can't help that think that if Solly March played for Palace he would have had some full England caps to his name.
Think he was very close to getting a call-up in 20/21 when he was one of the best performing left backs (and you're not drowning in those) in the league by most metrics, but then he tore his ACL. Also think he was really close to getting a call-up at the end of last season but again.. injury.

Bit unlucky, and now, unless he wants to play LB, I don't think he'll ever get into the squad, ship has sailed.
I still have the opinion Eze is a flat track bully.
Change your opinion then because he's pretty good.

He looked poor against us, gave a goal away, but to be fair that was his debut. Looked tidy last night, did the basics right.

I'm not denying he is good.
He is very good, deserves his call up. and will do well for England.
I just wouldn't play him against a strong nation.

The vast majority of his goals and big performances are against bottom half teams.
He has a habit of going missing in big games.
Has always been irrelevant in games against us (the anti-Zaha)

Most Palace fans I know, agree with this.
Lovely to watch when the conditions are perfect for him, but when the going gets tough, he isn't interested.

I thought Wharton looked a really good foil for Rice in those deeper midfield roles. Key in these tournaments and what often lets us down is keeping the ball, he looked very comfortable on the ball compared to a Henderson or Phillips.

I appreciate it's all relative, but he was still £18m up front with add ons to follow. Obviously he now looks to be worth more than that, but the outlay was certainly significant.

As for Eze, I just love seeing a player think "screw the percentages. Screw my ball retention stats. I'm going to take people on at every opportunity". Same goes for Antony Gordon.

I'm gearing myself up for the face that i'm going to have to properly start getting behind some Palace players in the coming weeks.

"Yes Eze, nice one lad" .... nope it's not tripping off my tongue just yet

Just tell yourself, they are all in the shop window.
The better they do, the more chance they will be playing somewhere else, next season.
