Up to 6th in the World Rankings. Good to see King Capello has guided the cheap through choppy waters into calmer seas, and well done to the FA for ignoring the initial knee jerk reactions and clamour for his head and keeping the best man for the job on.

Already as good as qualified for the promised land of Euro 2012 with the promise of much more to come from our mixture of young guns and older heads.

Never has a man been so easily pleased.

Just plain boring now, change the record eh?

Don't forget we have seasoned big-match bottlers Lampard and Terry to come back...

That'd be the same FA that initially announced (in the aftermath of the Germany debacle) that they would take 14 days before deciding on Capellos future. Hardly a ringing endorsement, and as ever, just a mealy-mouthed statement to initially appease a horrified footballing public after such an abject World Cup.

Sure they reached the right decision in keeping him on, but lets not pretend it was to do with anything other than the almighty payoff they'd have to splurge in order to cancel his contract.

Or the fact that Roy Hodgson had committed himself to Liverpool in the "window of uncertainty" immediately following the post-Bosch disaster.

Is a post-Bosch disaster when you take a big chunk out of the wall when your drilling goes wrong?:lolol:

To continue with the drilling analogy and his continued selection of Upson to plug the gap left by Ferdinand, Cappello is the sort of guy who would use a 7mm bit when he only has a 5mm rawlpug.

Great news. Despite a poor WC we are still without question one of the stronger teams around, much to some people's annoyance :)

You haven't watched many European or WC finals have you? We are SHIT for 90% of the matches in them. I think you must be totally deluded if you still believe we can mix it with the big boys on the big stage after what your eyes saw in South Africa.

Yes. Apart from the fact that evidence from the last TWO major tournaments absolutely pisses all over your fireworks, you're very nearly spot on. :dunce:

Same old same old. Qualify and win nothing. Home before the postcard as someone used to say (docherty?).

We will never win the world cup. Reasons below.

1, premier clubs means more to fans than england.
2, premier league clubs mean more to players than england.
3, our ball retention is simply awful.
4, our players seem to be trained NOT to beat a man but to pass it square. poor coaching
5, we cannot pass and move. our first touch is too poor. poor coaching
6, we have no creativity. thats the fault of the coaches too.

The new table also puts Egypt as 9th best team in world.

That table is a load of wank

We are 6th and France are 27th. I doubt we'd beat France tbh, so I'd have to agree it's a load of old wank

I agree we're not world-beaters, but not beat France at the moment? We're not that bad!

France weren't even trying in the World Cup, we were just shit even when we were trying. I have no doubt that France would roll us over if we played them tomorrow. They have some World Class players, we don't.
