Emile Heskey

Mendoza

NSC's Most Stalked
needs one more goal to equal the international goals scored by

Rene Higuita and Jose Luis Chilavert, but does have a better goals per game ratio, just.

Come on Emile, put in another cracking performance like the one in The Green Mile. The England fans need a new chant!!!

Rene Higuita - 68 caps, 8 goals
Jose Luis Chilavert - 74 caps, 8 goals
Emile Heskey - 58 caps, 7 goals

Wasn't Rene Higuita a goalie?
That doesn't say an awful lot about one of our potentially World Cup bound strikers......

I'm pretty sure Higuita was the goalie that did the 'scorpion kick' against England a few years back.

it still pains me that we could be 1-0 down, and in the last minute the ball falls to EMILE HESKEY 5 yards from goal.

i dont doubt for a MINUTE that he does a good job for the team. but i would be MUCH HAPPIER with Crouchie playing instead.

His miss against Japan was painful, would much rather see Bob in SA

my favourite HIGUITA moments are when he absolutely RAMPAGES up the pitch with the ball, only to play a simple 5 yard pass to a team-mate/opponent, before having to bomb it shit-quick back to his goal, rendering the entire excercise completely redundant

Should have scored it but Rooney in front of him (who should have put it away first) probably distracted him. No excuses, he should have anticipated Rooney missing it but I thought it was more Rooney's missed chance with Heskey trying to salvage something.

England's best 3 performances of the last TEN years:

England 5 - 1 Germany
England 4 - 1 Croatia
England 5 - 1 Croatia

Anyone here who thinks it's a co-incidence Heskey played in all 3 is a f***ing idiot. Seriously, stop watching football. How can so many people STILL not understand what he does for a team? It's actually ridiculous.

Oh and also:

Stephane Guivarch (striker) - 14 caps, ONE goal, ONE WORLD CUP WINNERS MEDAL.

Higuita, Valderramma, Asprilla and co. all in the same team.
Wow:love:

No-one's doubting that, it's just his goalscoring record IS woeful, there's no getting away from it.

Doubt Rooney would enjoy playing or get as much out of playing with the two mentioned goal keepers though. As a team player Heskey is the best 'big' striker we have and allows Rooney to get involved in the game a lot more.

So what though? He's not in the team to score goals. We might as well talk about Ashley Cole's scoring record.

The point you're missing though is that with Emile in the team we are less likely to find ourselves in that situation cos someone else in the team will have already scored by then.

Quite. If Crouch was playing instead of Heskey it's more likely we would be struggling. Regardless of whether HE scores more goals, WE score more goals with Heskey in the team. Simple really.
