And what grounds do you have for that guess? Because they signed Steve Sidwell?

If he did leave in January, I can't really see him travelling to far at such a young age, and Reading do like to sign up all the good young English players (Lita, Sidwell etc.)

I could be completly wrong, or he might stay who knows.

Because he's only played half a season, I'm not convinced the fee would be all that large. Bad news all round, if true.

Well, if the fee's not all that large, why would we sell?

Anyway, I guess it's obvious we'd get rid in January - the Championship is screaming out for 20 year-old centre-halves with fewer than 25 first team games under their belt.

One point of interest - it's exactly two years ago today he signed pro forms for us.

I would hope that at this time DK would price him out of move unless ity was an offer that we could not afford to refuse. We might be in The Championship ourselves next season and would need him rather than a small fee, which he would probably command at the moment say £100k.

How much would it cost us to replace him with somebody more experienced £75 - 100k what is the point.

We have him on contract until the end of next season, I believe (perhaps someone can correct me if that's wrong) - so he certainly features in the club's plans. The deal, as you rightly say Brian, would have to be an extraordinarily good one for Dick to want to sell.

He held out to Celtic until they called his bluff - and look how much they coughed up for a 20-year old. £100,000 would be the 'Criminal Giveaway of the Season' for me, assuming this *cough* 'rumour' is right.
