It's a whole evening about jeff lynne on bbc4. At 11.50pm there's a Jeff Lynne Acoustic show. The wembley concert is repeated at 1.20am (after a repeat of a repeat of the mr blue sky:the story of jeff lynne documentary).

No need to apologise. Was just letting everyone know, both for those who are interested now, and those who are too busy now to watch it and to those who may come along in the next hour or so and think 'darnit! I wish I saw this earlier!'

When you think how long ago this was, and how tight they are as a band.......no where near as much technology as they have today (ear pieces etc)....playing in such a large venue......in my opinion they are brilliant............

Amazing the stuff he did with the late, great Roy Orbison

Saw ELO at Wembley in '81 and it was a great show. What really surprised me was what a superb guitarist Jeff Lynne was and also how much heavier they sound live compared to their records.

Am i guessing your username (57) is either date of birth or age?

No I am actually 52, I think this concert was June 78 so I was a mere 17 at the time. My username is my work sign on as all references to Mike had already been taken and this was easier to remember.

I was also into lasers at the time, I studied Art at Varndean 6th form College and the previous year the college took us to the Royal Academy where they had a Laser exhibition. So when ELO's act was full of lasers I was blown away.
