Does anyone know exactly how many assists benno has to his name this season, it must be into double figures already! Is there a league 1 table for this, and if there is, he must be near the top?

I've done some analysis in my own statto way - and I actually have Bennett on 14 assists (including the 2 last night) this season, but that does include being pulled down for penalties.

I'll post my actual analysis this evening.

Elliott has 13 assists this season, including the two last night. Yes - the player who wins the penalty gets the assist as essentially the goal came through their efforts.

The full assists table for Albion is :-

Bennett 13
Murray 3
Lua Lua 3
Smith 2
Dicker 2
Barnes 1
Kishishev 1
Painter 1
Calderon 1

Total 27 goals

Unfortunately the Football League and also the Press Association (who provide the stats to all official websites) have some weird and wonderful way of accumulating data which means that their figures are never as accurate as those produced internally within the football club.

So taking into account Bennett's one league goal this season he has actually assisted 50% of our goals he didn't score himself. That's amazing!

^^^ yes - which is why the gaffer rates him the best deliverer of the ball in the league

To be honest, I'd rather we didn't make a big deal of this, as:

a. I want all the clueless opposition managers and fans to keep convincing themselves that KLL is THE danger man, and ignore Elliott.

b. I'm going to CRY when someone buys him off us

Great work.

My n/a assist is possibly actually a Murray assist - I can't recall who was fouled for Lua Lua's freekick against MK Dons... I've also classified the 1st goal versus Charlton as a 'Corner Move' giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Also Papa, and I may be wrong on this - I think it was Calderon who provided the assist for Painter's header at home to Walsall. I noticed Calde wasn't on your assist list, so presumed you must have given it to Bennett.

EDIT: Just checked, looks like I am wrong! I could swear Calderon's crossed from the right for someone to score this season..

That may be where I dffier from the club's total for Bennett. I'll check.

Haha, nope - see edit. It was Elliott who provided the assist.

Although it may be they haven't counted Murray's header vs Rochdale, as it bounced off the bar before he put in the rebound.

I counted that as Bennett's assist as he sent in the free kick which Murray has 2 stabs at scoring from.

As you can also see I've put the goal at Tranmere down as an Ankegran / Barnes assist as I'm not certain Barnes touched Ankegran's drop kick before Murray volleyed it in.
