I went to that game last weekk and paid close attention to him as well.
Totally agree with your points. Like you say, he's not the biggest of centre-backs, kind of looks and plays in the mould of Adam El Abd. I thought his biggest strength was the reading of the game, he was always getting into the right positon to win the ball and to make blocks. On the ocassions he had the ball, he looked to get the ball down and play to his midfielders. No wonder Albion were interested in him, he would totally slot into the team, however buying Igor last summer might have blocked his move now.

I would be surprised if we signed a player from L1 straight for the first team. I would anticipate at least one loan move to the Championship first.

I’ve got a mate at Derby and the player was in bits when the deal collapsed apparently. He thought it was all done.

Sadly we’ll have competition now as he’s had a good season. Few doubts over some parts of his game but has potential

So we desperately wanted him last year but are happy to be pipped by Forest this summer despite the low asking price? So confused.
I have it on very good authority his bags were packed and he was convinced he was joining us on deadline day but didn’t go through. He was gutted apparently to

No need to name your source, he's talked about it publicly: https://www.derbyworld.co.uk/sport/eiran-cashin-premier-league-brighton-4546183 My understanding is we took ages to reach agreement as to whether he would join immediately or in January -- possibly the fee as well -- which delayed things until the move could no longer be completed.

I thought Forest have to sell before buying any other players?!
I guess if they sell Murillo for decent money then they could replace him with the purchase of the younger Cashin.

Cites the athletic aye. Where's the link ;)
To be fair, none of the Brighton Bubble etc tweets ever provide a link, either, but they don't invent reports. If you have an Athletic subscription and know there's no reporting to this effect, fair enough.
