This will be a good test and will show how serious Potter is about the competition. If he puts out a similar team then obviously not taking it seriously. Should be a good crowd so hope we do take it seriously, Villa will be tough to break down. They've got a very good squad so we'll do well to get through.

We have a squad of 25 all of whom should be up to playing in the first team so I am not sure giving those who haven’t had much game time a run out in the cups isn’t the best solution. This would obviously mean we would not play all the first choice players. Contentious maybe, as Villa may well play their first team but if we don’t give players run out in cup games how are they supposed to be close to match fitness when called on for the first team?

The bench could be stuffed with our best players to be called on if players fall short, but they shouldn’t as we have built a decent Premier League squad now imo. None should be out of their depth in a cup game against Premier League opponents. Although, personally, I’m not totally convinced by our back up keepers.

Villa have been very good today, one off the bar at the end they at least gave the oil barons a good scare

Playing against Man City is bad enough but when the officials are wearing their home kit it's impossible.

We need to watch City and start doing what they do when a team breaks on them, they wipe that player out on half way.

The worse they get is sympathies for losing one player, for most of the season, who would have won them the title had he been fit.

Teams like us get a sending off.
Dry humped because playing with 10 men.
Then a 3 game ban to ice the cake.
