This guy is single handedly saving Sussex from complete embarrassment this season.

Better than Bell and it isn't as if Bopara's been pulling his weight either.

Mind you we can't afford to lose him right now so let's keep it quiet

reverse-swing psychology being used here? In which case, sign him up!

This guy is single handedly saving Sussex from complete embarrassment this season.

He's done well in the one-dayers but, until yesterday, hadn't had a particularly good season in the CC. Nash, Yardy and Wright were all above him in the averages.

I reckon he's a long way down the pecking order for test matches. Key, Denly, Hildreth and Moore will be ahead of him in the queue.

Mind you, a few more innings like yesterday's and he'll be forcing his way up that list.

The fact that Yootha is left handed may count against him a little bit - the selectors might not want the first 3 batsmen to all be lefties. Maybe.

Well that is why he signed for Sussex in the first place is it not?

First Divison Cricket & a chance to impress the selectors.

Agree we cannot afford to lose him at present, hopefully Sussex will bowl better than (most of them ) batted yesterday - I will be at the lovely Cricketfield Road this afternoon to find out.....
