I rarely watch it but on the occasions I do I just can't believe how wooden the kid is, it amazes me how he ever got the job.

At least on Coronation Street the child actors are usually half decent (Chesney the ginger kid, David Platt when he was younger).

The best child actor I've seen on UK TV is that curly haired girl in the Hugh Dennis sitcom. Can't remember the name of the show as it's not my bag, but the kid is superb whenever I've seen her.

Agreed, also they are only given a basic outline of the plot and very little of what they say is actually scripted.It adds to the realism of there performance.
