For those lovers of the 80s there is a terrific program on BBC Four at present about Duran Duran.

They are just so cool...........

Saw that, always had a bit of a soft spot for them (much to the piss take of my mates), although you'd class me as a 'rocker' as The Cult were my eighties band.

Interstingly enough I think Duran Duran were only a couple of genes short of being a true rock band, most of their stuff is guitar riffed based but with a funk rythm section and a bit of techno.

Nope as it does not work.

Burrish - very interesting that they did use a lot of rock riffs overlaid, I found Rhodes very interesting to listen to.

I suppose that was why two of them formed Power Station

Shiver me frickin' timbers BH I'd hate to hear who you don't think is cool if you think Duran Duran, the Take That of the 80s, were ever cool!! 'Cool' bands from the 80s would be in the mould of Echo & The Bunnymen, The The or Talking Heads, not a mainstream boy band!

Got to defend BH here, a load of blokes who could actually play their instruments were not the Take That of the 80's. Duran Duran were not cool though that goes to this lot I'm afraid!
