Need to get some new trainers and can't remember the name of the shop at the western end of Duke Street, northern side next to choccywoccydodah. Anyone know what it is called and if they have a website?

Try Sport and Soccer on North Street...

They're having a Closing Down Sale

Want something better than the Lonsdale/Umbro/Airwalk crap they sell in that jumble sale:)

Tip for the trainer freaks...Size, Offspring and Office in Brighton all have sales on at the moment. Footlocker in Chavchill Square has some decent half shells on offer as well. Best hidden secret is TK Maxx though - you have to dig (as usual) but you can get some reet good 'uns in there (unless you're a size ten, as it would seem every man in Brighton is...)

Anyone recommend good trainers for treadmill at the gym. Need to reduce stress on hip presumably with a thicker foot sole.

Cheap (£25) - Nike Cross trainers, good bend and padding and pretty much unbreakable.

Value (but probably £60 minimum) - The Jog Shop, off Eastern Road. Top notch trainers and advice but you do pay for it.

Ain't that the truth.

By taking it to the MAX I have picked up a pair of Adidas Campus and Willem Bunghurts. I think I may have picked up a cheapo pair of Stan Smiths in their at one time or another as well.

jog shop is a must if you are serious about training and running.

Definitely. If you want to be able to run effectively and minimise the chances of injury you really need to get gait analysis done at a proper shop, and I think Jog shop is one of those (although I've not been there).

I buy all my running footwear from this place.

So, you'd recommend, ya ? I've only been running for 12 weeks or so, and will need to gear up soon (but, I do have some decent shoes)

Jog Shop just off St. James St has been recommended to various people at work who have started serious fitness and running. It is just by the Kings Arms, and what looks like an old Mazda garage, but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the street.

I have used The Mole for my last trainers, which are skate shoes, as they are so comfortable.

Yup, found their website thanks. In a small road between St James St and Edward St.
