Off there end of July for a family wedding. Staying in an apartment on Kneza Domagoja with the family for a week. Any tips, hints, do's and don'ts that you fine folk can pass on? Also what is the best guidebook to get?

Get the boat round (or jump on the bus) to Cavtat for lunch. Amazing little bay a couple of miles from the airport.

I'd also recommend just driving down the coast towards Montenegro, the scenery is quite frankly superb. Be warned though if you do go across the border it can take an age as you are leaving the EU.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Went there last year.

It's lovely (but not cheap).

Walk the walls VERY early before the cruise ships arrive. When they arrive the place is rammed.

Have a boat trip around the islands.

Get one of these http://www.dubrovnikcard.com/

You can download a Rough Guide onto a kindle for a couple of quid.

Day trip to Mostar.

It will be very hot.

In London village.
Been before and going again in a couple of weeks. Walk the walls (but bring some water) and explore the place. Lokrum is a quick trip if you want to get some swimming/sunbathing/peacock spotting.

Did this a couple of years ago. Spent a week near Cavtat and did the boat trip to Dubrovnik and really enjoyed it. Did the coach trip to Montenegro, and it did take ages to get through the checkpoint, but it was well worth it for the scenery. There's a trip from Cavtat in a glass bottom boat around the islands, where you can still see some of the bomb damaged hotels.

Had a couple of weeks in the area last year Dubrovnick is very impressive but quite small you can easily do all the museums the walls and a boat trip to see the wall from the sea in one day, however the area is good for visiting Bosnia Mostar and Montenegro.

Cavtat is a nice little town some of the worlds very rich take their holidays here

Was there last week on a cruise. Go up in the cable cars and look down onto the city.

Wonderful place. Great bar on the rocks just outside the city walls which featured in the recent 'best bars in the world' thread on NSC.

It's also where they film King's Landing for Game of Thrones.

There's a 5D multimedia museum in Dubrovnik which is all hyped up to be a big attraction in the city, at least it was when we were there. Anyway, don't bother, it's shit! Along with several other tourists, we left feeling cheated out of our entrance fee!
