Except it wasn't a London bus , 3 buses were used in the filming and these were Bristol VR's which started out in the Alder Valley fleet before ending up with Ensign , a bus dealer that buys redundant stock and flogs or hires them out.

now THATS really anal .. its big, its red, its a bus , it's set in London.. I think that's good enough for 98% of us here.

It's Dr Who thread on an Internet forum, and still one geek stands head and shoulders above the rest of us.

Just got lucky, its random-talking in terms of the show. The rift in time and space isn't going tp pick and choose where it cracks open.

And because they film in Cardiff, TV shows have to be based somewhere and by having it in Cardiff makes it easy for them being in their own backyard.

But you would still think the average alien invasion fleet would check out it's "Hitchikers guide to the universe" and then pick somewhere with a bit less attitude. Let's face it the average slapper in Cardiff is way more scary than anything that the BBC special effects department can dream up !

The UK filming was done in Cardiff (didn't get fooled by the London bus stop in one of the scenes :)), with CGI of the bus flying over London to make us believe the tunnel was in London

I knew it couldn't have been in London as it's tunnels aren't big enough for double deckers.

was better than christmas, but lets be honest, it couldnt be much f***ing worse

didnt like the ending with the bus flying away - doctor should have let her get arrested and then just gone. or alternatively, it should have just ended with the knocking four times comment - which is almost certainly the master due to his sound of drums knocking, which had four knocks in it. cant think of anybody id rather have kill off tennant, who is starting to piss me off now

also, the reference to "it" is returning - like to think that would be gallifrey, but wont hold any breath over it

Ending at the end of the old lady's mysterious speech would have been much more satisfying. The bus flying off at the end was basically setting up Michelle Ryan as a character who will return in futue episodes? She has a flying bus now!

I'm dissapointed that this is 2 specials in a row now which have been pretty underwhelming. I hope Tennant gets the send off he deserves under Russell T Davies but also kind of looking forward to getting on with the new guard next season.

Also, did anyone think the lady's speech at the end almost made it blindinlgy obvious who she was referring to?

Probably not to the kids. But then again, that's half the point, isn't it - a tease of what's to come!
