In the old days the most feared/evil/horrible/intelligent Rock/Vegetable/Insect/Alien could only kill anyone by slowly shuffing towards his victim and slowly strangling them.. so, we should be more appreciative .

Didn't the Cybermen or Ice Warriors have weapons?

I so wanted Mich to continue as a companion for at least another episode but a really good episode and good developments too.

I like the whole possibility we might shed some light on the Midnight entity.

It's slowly moving away from the old. Wonder if its possible to bring Mich R back someday, I like her character, as well as herself obviously, reminds me a little of the beginnings of Jack Harkness. Possibly a time agent?

I'd be a bit surprised if that's the last we see of 'Lady Christina', be it in Dr Who or Torchwood.

As for the four knocks, I also thought it was a reference to the master, and the sound of the drums

What I could never understand with Torchwood is why Cardiff, of all places, would be a hotbed of alien activity - I guess it's because its cheap for the Beeb to film there.

Ryan was nice to look at, mostly, but other than that she simply annoyed me.

Very fine to look at! She wasn't too bad, although the witing didn't help, especially lines like "what the blazes?!"

Was a terribly written plot, with plenty of flaws, but equally the hour absolutely flew by, and Lee Evans was brilliant!

Just got lucky, its random-talking in terms of the show. The rift in time and space isn't going tp pick and choose where it cracks open.

And because they film in Cardiff, TV shows have to be based somewhere and by having it in Cardiff makes it easy for them being in their own backyard.

Whoever or whatever it was, The Doctor knew straight away. I think the smart money would be on the master.

Well I enjoyed it. It makes a change to have new programs on, instead of the usual endless repeats.

Didn't the Cybermen or Ice Warriors have weapons?

Cybermen had weapons later on, but usually resorted to breaking peoples necks via a strong chop from their arm

Not sure about ice warriors as haven't seen any episode with them in it.

nice to see that the BBC still have in their remit (subsidised by you, the licence fee payer), a commitment to convince the British public (against all the evidence that this country is still overwhelmingly North European in ethnic origin) that black people now make up at least 50% of the population of the UK.

What the f***? As conspiracy theories go this one is about as realistic as Dr.Who itself. What exactly would the BBC achieve by convincing the British public that at least 50% of the population of the UK are black? I think you need to up your meds mate.

Much better than the Christmas one I thought.

I don't really like 'one off' episodes though, they don't really go anywhere. 2/3 parters are much better.

You're in luck for the next three.

Next one (due out November) is not the same storyline as the two-parter in 2010 but is connected. So what ever happens in The Water of Mars has a big effect on the double bill in Christmas/January I am guessing.

But to be honest, I like the ending of the planet of the dead, with the whole unveiling of the prophecy thing. Surely you could say that is 'connected' to the last specials?

I think you are close, but, no cigar... I think you mis heard " Four Knocks" and in fact it was "Fernox".. I believe that the Doctor suffers from a leaking radiator on board the TARDIS and can't afford to pay the plumber's call out charges due to the distance plus the plumber has additional charges for crossing dimensions at weekends.

The episode will revolve around the Doctors desperate quest find a B&Q employee who can take him to the dimension/sales area where the "Fernox" is on display.

Doctor Who has now got far too high tech to be either interesting or exciting and there is a complete lack of atmosphere in virtually every episode. Give me an episode from the 70s any day of the week.

Commoners! "I fink" ... "Wots that fing?" It's the Thorn Ox. A Bramble/cow hybrid that turns milk into some sharp liquid that sticks in your throat turning you into one of them.

May be reading way too much into it - but I thought they were rays on the planet of death = death ray

I need to get out more!

That was shit. A dire episode.. can they please stop writing a David Tennant comedy series and spend more time writing a plot that actually makes sense. Load of bollocks and I so wanted to enjoy it.

This episode was centred upon a London bus and its pasengers....so, it was quite accurate really.

Except it wasn't a London bus , 3 buses were used in the filming and these were Bristol VR's which started out in the Alder Valley fleet before ending up with Ensign , a bus dealer that buys redundant stock and flogs or hires them out.
