I agree with you. Best programme of the year me thinks. Wonderfully acted and strong scripts. TV viewing at its best. Must mean I'm getting old too.

Out of interest, how old are you? I've had no desire to watch this (and I'm not exactly a spring chicken).

I'm curious to know if there is an age that I might reach where I will want to watch progs like this and perhaps an even later age when I would find that even progs similar to Heartbeat would be appealing (and when that day comes you may shoot me).

I don't normally do ITV dramas as they are normally trashy but this is quality stuff. Lots of very likeable characters. I wonder when the second series will be on?

I am not a great lover of it or any other period dramas, but watch anything that has Joanne Froggart in as I think that she is a good actress.

I think they start filming in Feb and will be on in the autumn.

I must also confess an addiction to this, very well made, well scripted and well acted programme.

Looking forward to the last of the series tonight.

this is the only ITV drama that I have really enjoyed.

Great stuff...can't wait till after xfactor for the next episode.

Still pisses me off that there are advert breaks...it does tend to break up the momentum

We now very rarely watch ITV live we either sky+ it or put it on pause before starting the program, a 1 hour program then becomes 45 mins and is easier to watch and concentrate on.

Given the choice we watch BBC and record ITV for that reason.

We've enjoyed it too (can you believe Joe watches it and has been enjoying it!!!) and completely agree with you re the ads. Really annoying especially the first one, seems its only been on 2 minutes before an ad break!

Do you know I think that's why I have enjoyed it so much, I always watch it on demand so no ads. Makes a big difference.

As for the age thing, it's not really that it's more wanting a well told story with interesting characters and how they interact rather than all action shoot-em-up's which can almost be forgotten moments later.

Brilliant series and really sad it's finished for now. I am getting worried about myself! Never used to like such things, but Mrs Jerryatric is delighted!

My wife LOVES this stuff, so I watched this too.

Lady Sybil would get it.
