Lulworth Cove
Studland Bay
Lyme Regis

Plus Chesil Beach

Portland is worth a visit and there is a great little beach called Church Ope Cove, which has a pirate grave yard!!

Forgot to mention the walk from Tyneham village through the army ranges down to Warbarrow tout and beach. (if the ranges are open)

Do this!!! Tyneham is a tiny derelict ghost village which was evacuated in 1943 to provide a training ground for american soldiers prior to the battle of Normandy. The inhabitants where never allowed to return. Warbarrow Bay is well worth the walk and is a beautiful unspoilt bay.

Seems like a lot of NSC'ers know the Dorset part of the world very well. I am camping in St Leonards, near Ringmer this weekend. anyone recommend anything to do down there and any good pubs?

I'm glad to hear that's still the case. It must be about 20 years since I was last there, but it remains high in my memories of great pubs to visit.
Chances are it's still the same landlord, honest!

Burton Bradstock, near Bridport, has some good pubs. It also has an award winning beach cafe - The Hive, I think it's called. Tyneham gives me the shivers but I think it's only open in August when the ranges are closed.

The walk to it, from West Bay, under some truly amazing cliffs is superb.
Plus walking back along the coast path, you get to see what is widely regarded as one of the top 50 golf holes in the world.
On the West Dorset course.
