The amount of piss flapping on NSC is getting ridiculous. There has only been two seasons in TBs entire tenure where its been uncomfortable and we are much better placed than we were on both those occasions. I still maintain that RDZ was a big reason for our second half form being so bad, not the players that were fit.

The OP is the other account of Chailey Jem who's on a wind up.
Also, no mention of the whole squad being injured. Or the imminent appointment of Big Sam
No affiliation I can assure you. And this is no wind up!

I thought De Zerbi was God?

Breaking off from the controversial relegation odds thread which seems to have transitioned to a what would it take for us to be relegated thread... not necessarily all doom and gloom but just some possible eventualities to consider, all in one place.

Of course, as many have pointed out, the spectre of relegation hangs over most PL clubs at the beginning of the season but there are always mitigating factors which swing the balance either way in terms of pre-season odds. It's too soon to make this prediction given that we don't know who the manager will be and we haven't seen how the transfer window will pan out. Nevertheless, there's a sneaking feeling that the Albion have hit their ceiling and are suddenly looking down rather than up.

It isn't crazy to consider, as other posters have done, what would constitute a worst case scenario on a realistic level (shitposters welcome nonetheless) since there are a number of factors currently in the balance, perhaps more so than in any previous season since Potter steered us to safety in his first season.

So here's the new poll... We are doomed if... which combination of these scenarios plays out... (this is just for fun, i'm sure we'll be fine, won't we?)
Correction. Piss flapping thread...

The dull part of the south coast
Not really building anything tho are we? That ship sailed with RDZ and his crew. Now we're just looking for a guy with a mop and a bucket to keep the shop window looking shiny.
Oh well, it was nice while it lasted
You don’t know though, do you? Nor does anyone outside the club. The Albion have always kept their cards close to their chest (Tony’s the expert at that!) when it comes to wheeling and dealing. No doubt all will be revealed shortly and the shop window will still be looking shiny.

I am enjoying a refreshing cup of tea and looking with interest towards the horizon, and so are you it seems.

He was, on here - for a long time! Any deviation from the script was snapped down pretty sharpish! Not so much now .....................
It was the sniping at a manager in place that triggered reactions. It was never a religion. FFS.

Keep the faith, followed by 'the King is dead, long live The King' is my mantra, all the while we have the likes of Tony Bloom, rather than Bill Archer running the club.

Never a religion! But de Zerbi was a god who must not be questioned to many on here. Anything good was attributed to him, turning round a dreadful Potter team into a good one - it wasn't like that at all, but woe betide anyone who suggested otherwise!

I don't remember that. I am on NSC a lot and a few people who are easily ignored such as Dwayne aside, our attitude to our recent managers has been measured and balanced. You make it sound like most people who post on NSC are cultist weirdos. I don't recognize that at all.

We beat Leicester 5-2 and were very high in the table when Potter left. Almost everyone was gutted. And almost everyone was delighted how things continued under RDZ. And then there was increasing concern and disillusion as RDZ's departure became likely. And when he left at his departing game he was given an excellent send off. All good.

Yes, I remember one or two who were constantly sniping at Potter and one or two who cheered themselves up after it looked like RDZ was leaving by slagging him off. But both were minority views, and I don't recall being coerced or bullied by either contingent.

The one thing I particularly don't recall at all was the 'de Zerbi is a god who must not be questioned' contingent and the 'woe betide anyone who suggested otherwise' narrative. I think you have made all that up.

I have taken doomed to mean relegated, in which case only the manager not turning things around going to make this a possibility. If doomed means bottom half, or bottom six then the others would come into play.

"Doomed" was meant with a pinch of salt, of course. I suppose i'm suggesting that many of these factors could happen at once and I don't think as fans we've considered what that could look like. Far be it from me to suggest how people should feel, but I feel we should be careful to rest on our laurels, I felt that back in February and I feel it now.

The club needs to consider its overall strategy to breathe some life into the adventure. I can understand the club's reluctance to break from their model but if things don't improve soon they might have to. It's that old stick or twist scenario.

The irony is that the club might be forced to break from their model before that happens, in spite of De Zerbi's insistence. As other's have said, it could be that it was the nature of his comments and his poor form from January that sealed his fate, not necessarily whether his views on transfers clashed with those of the club. I'm sure the club have no issue with signing ready-made players as the Athletic have reported, just not De Zerbi's choices!
