We're losing an hour tonight.

America are doing away with the charade from next year.
Should we follow suit?

Shouldn't this nonsense have stopped when we left Europe?

Yes. Why haven't we taken back control of our darkness? Johnson will pay for this.

Yep, shortest day of the year tomorrow.

But it isn't though. That really was sometime in December. Shirly?

No, its bloody stupid that it is now light at 6AM but going dark at 6PM, let us all Spring Forward!

America are staying with daylight savings time all the year round.

Sounds like a good Idea to me. Keep it at BST.

We started doing it over 100 years ago to save fuel during the First World War. Think we've saved a few quid by now. Time to make the changes permanent imo.

The excitement of the clocks changing has all but gone away, far too many self adjusting time pieces now.

I'm going to have to faff about, changing the clock on my cookers, toasters, hairdryers, bidet, etc., you can guess the rest, tomorrow. What's the point of voting Leave if we have all this drama. It's a ****ing disgrace. Fact.

I say leave things as they are, as I quite enjoy the biannual turmoil of changing the clocks, and cursing when I find that I've missed one.
Nothing beats that feeling when it's 'suddenly' still sunny/light at 7pm. :)

the US made a permenent swicth to +DST back in the 70's then realised how shite it was to have start the day in the dark during winter. as we're a lot higher latitude the negative effects would be greater. unless we stick to GMT and dont go forward, so we have hours of morning sunshine and dark early evenings in the summer.

At the end of my tether
Back in the ‘60s Britain changed to Summer Time all year round for a few years. The experiment was abandoned due to unpopularity. In the winter it was dark until late .... mid morning in Scotland I believe.
Every country is different, due to latitude and position, I believe the present system works well... even though it felt very early to get up this morning!
