Thats all well and good but then where did sin come from if it wasn't Adam and Eve's fall if it were

There is no such thing as "sin". Some actions are good, some actions are bad, but "sin" is an imaginary concept used as a scare-tactic by the religious.

Friends lets not confuse Christianity with religion . Christianity is not wearing a purple hat and a big cross neckless , or waving a smoking teapot around or a stick with a bent end that would be used better rounding sheep . For me its about accepting Jesus died for our sins to set us free and are resurrected with him spiritually until we will be with him in heaven for eternity . Don't get sucked in with the worldly media saying the church is in crisis because women didn't get the vote to become bishops , vicars etc are man made things and are not mentioned in the bible , whatever worldly vote or campaign that the world comes up with to try and guide us away from the truth will fail , no one can change what God wants in his plans for us , its only us that can ignore it , there are fantastic women councilors and prayer teams and small group hosts within the church so women have a massive role in Gods plan , in the beginning God made Adam to rule the earth then gave him Eve as a loyal companion . There are no rules here just the truth , you can read it for yourselves . Love to you all

The God Delusion is a better read and more believable.

nope, i go to st. peter's....a CofE church

our vicar openly welcomes being questioned

Do you? Do I know you?!

I too tried CCK when first moving to Brighton but didn't find it sat well for me, I now go to St Peters and find it a very open minded and thoughtful Church.

Book full of straw men being set up and knocked down, written by someone who has zero understanding of the first thing about his subject matter.

That is rich. At least he speaks for himself and doesn't try and re-interpret the supposed words of a being that likely doesn't exist for their own ends.

The Science Delusion is a better read.

At least its written by a someone who has experience of the subject, i.e. a scientist.

I do believe in a creator of this world. I don't believe in any religious god, but continuity isn't luck. Meditation will answer any queries about God.

Not rich at all - if I wrote a book on lesbian gardening, why would you take me as an authority on the matter. Dawkins starts a lot of his furious rants by explaining things that Christians think etc. he's not a Christian. He doesn't know the first thing about being a Christian.

He doesn't know the first thing about being a Christian.

The first thing to know about being a Christian is labelling yourself different to anyone else with alternative faith. Now does that sound violent?

Uhm, yes he does, he has researched Christianity more than you ever will and discussed Christianity with more Christians than you've ever met. And if you wanted to write a book exploring Lesbian Gardening then yes, you could be an authority on it by doing your research. What a ridiculous metaphor. That's equivalent to proclaiming nobody can write a book about dinosaurs as they have not the slightest idea what it's like to be A dinosaur. He wasn't writing about what it's like to be a Christian, he was writing about Christianity. Outstanding work though chap :)

He can research Christianity and discuss it with as many people as he wants but that does not make him an expert on God.

Nor does it being a Christian. I doubt he would proclaim himself an expert on God, having a good knowledge of religion and expressing that through the athiest asthetic, yes I would say he's an authority on that.

It's interesting that Rupert Sheldrake, author of The Science Delusion (the unofficial reply to The God Delusion) said he would like to have a healthy debate over the material in both books and has invited Richard Dawkins many times.

Richard Dawkins refuses to meet him and actually is quoted as saying he will never even read his book. Now that's a really open mind!
