Dons set for sell-out

rushden and diamonds/ wycombe new clubs doing ok

And R&D are an amalgam of Rushden Town (founded 1889) and Irthlingborough Diamonds (founded 1946) - teams from two towns only 2 or 3 miles apart. MK Wimbledon represent the theft of a club by a town 70miles from the historic basis of the original club. The town couldn't be arsed (unlike Merton) to support a club up through the pyramid scheme (see the collapse of MK City), so they bribed the Wimbledon board - made up of non-football moneymen - to move to MK. Bastards.

It is beyond my comprehension that any football fan could find this acceptable. This is a precedent that MUST be opposed at every turn - because it could be your club next.

And Rushden not that new either. Just an amalgamation of two local clubs and a rich bloke's bank account. They weren't imposed on the locals in the same way MKFC have been, and they certainly weren't wrenched from the local community and dropped in a different town miles from home, against the wishes of football supporters in general.

I mentioned this yesterday on another thread but the crowd congestion was due to the fact that the club deliberately opened as few turnstiles as possible in order to create a situation whereby demand appeared to be great.
