B.R. - how does Wimbledon leaving Selhurst impact Palace? Presumably they were paying quite a substantial 'rent' that Palace will have been used to over the past few years?

palace will have to pay the extra £500,000 ish a year to mr noales as the don's sub let of palace, the don's owed palace all last years rent thats why shipperley moved to palace for nothing
plus lossing the wage's akinbiyi will cover the loss.

FG talking spherical objects (this is a family forum I believe) as usual. BHA is the second most supported club after Chelsea in Tunbridge Wells. I have lived in the East Grinstead area for 28 years now and would not dream of supporting another club, even if Crawley got into the Premiership and the Albion in the Conference. Having said that, if the Albion got into the Premiership and stayed there, you would have nothing to complain about any more, would you? As for Franchise, hope they get relegated, then Milton Keynes people will go back to Chelsea, Arsenal and so on. Keep up the good work AFC.

er what happened to the sell out? - (from bbc)

Bereft of fans for over a year after their traditional support abandoned them over the relocation, 5,639 turned up at Milton Keynes, including the visitors.

The kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes due to crowd congestion, and once the referee finally got play underway, the Dons made the worst possible start in their new home
:lolol: :lolol:

crowd congestion!? i thought they were expecting over 3000 more people

Chertsey
from the sky site:
It took them time to find their voice, and they all seemed a little unsure of exactly what to chant, despite feverish encouragement from a young group of cheerleaders and an extremely excitable announcer who insisted on referring to his side as the MK Dons.

Eventually they settled largely on cheering on "Milton Keynes", but there was also occasionally the odd call of "come on Tottenham" as if to underline that even here, Wimbledon are not yet everyone's favourite club.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Duncan H said:
I work with someone from Milton Keynes, and they said that the local paper was printing songs for the game for all the locals to sing. The match is sold out, he said.
From the Evening Standard................
It's a town not afraid to play along with its own comedy image, too. The MK News's "cut-out-and-keep chant guide" may have the locals offering us classic lines tomorrow such as "We've got more roundabouts than you" and, to the tune of The Banana Splits, "Concrete cows, la la la la". Supporters are of course urged to greet every Dons' goal with cries of "Moooooo!"

The local hero himself is honoured with the chant "Winkelman, superstar, he's got a mullet and a Jaguar" - he has too - yet he accepts that, to many beyond MK, he's no laughing matter but a hate figure. "Could I recommend this to anyone? No. It's caused too much pain, too much hurt and allowed us all to focus on the wrong issues," he shrugged.

TWAT /S !

The only way is down! :bigwave:

cant agree, wish i could, but for a new club in a new town that is actually a bloody good turnout. Look at rushden and diamonds/ wycombe new clubs doing ok, unfortunatly the obviously is demand for football in milton keynes, but the fa should never have let this happen:angry:
