Erm - isn't that exactly what the cutting says happened?!

It doesn't actually quote how Starmer corrected Trump.

It quotes Trump.

If Starmer did correct Trump he didn't pursue it.

Trump said next question according to your cutting.

I believe the 'he' referenced is actually the reporter but the above still applies.

This place is lovely, and the rest of the interwebs can go f*** themselves.
Even Facebook has started to feed me links to far right bolleaux.
And the closest Facebook pal I have to 'far right' is dear old Harty :lolol:
It is a sinister algorithm that feeds you what you don't want.

Mind you, youtube offered me 'Dirty Girty' the other week, and is now offering half-dressed goths with unfeasible bosoms.
Weird.
We need pictures lol

Starmer interrupts Trump to correct his false claim that European nations "get their money back" from Ukraine:

"Mainly it was gifted, actually."

Let's not confuse that with the cutting I was referring to.

BBC - but maybe they've conflated things.

I would say so yes.
Maybe you can check it or make sure they have their facts right ;)
Do you have actual link to the text?
Because the link I have is very different.

Yes - looks as thought he BBC have got stuff muddled. I took it from here.

I think this second state visit is a very clever idea. First reaction is that it's nauseating, but really it's nothing more than ceremonial bollocks, the cost of which will be insignificant compared to what it could acheive. Reason being that it plays massively to what we all know is Trump's biggest weakness: his ego. He's not going to risk that invite to meet the King being rescinded by siding with Putin over the course of the next few weeks/months or being a **** over tarrifs that affect the UK.
Its bollocks but its a great idea

Starmer seems to have played an absolute blinder today.

Did exactly what he had to do - suck up and play to Trump's ginormous ego at every opportunity.

Pushed away the Andrew Tate and Canada questions and played everything else with a straight bat.

Trump being Trump, had it been less harmonious behind the scenes, he would absolutely have said so, and let everyone know he was the big man in charge calling the shots.

Crossing my fingers for Zelenskyy tomorrow.

I agree with this, It was nauseous to watch, but it was necessary in the circumstances. I can't help thinking that he might have a little vomit when he gets back on the plane, but he knows he has played the right hand. He couldn't confront Trump and say what he felt because it would have made it worse.

Just need to keep the protesters away, although no doubt the Orange Idiot will say they were the biggest crowd ever and all supporting him.

So where have we got to?

You need to keep the protesters away from a Trump state visit?

Wow, this country has come / gone a long way in only a few months.

Yeah, in hindsight I agree. All he could do, I guess, and he played it very well. What a world we live in though, eh 😔
