I thibk your answer is spot on and very enlightening.

if the same question was asked about truely terrible governments the answer woke be to wheel off a long list of their failures. You can see it on the threads about Trump and the Tories.

The fact that the answer in this case is a little more tricky and complicated speaks volumes about how bad the current labour government are in comparison.
