I've just made a web site using front page and published it onto the web using my NTL homepage. I want to give it its own domain name but the company NTL forward me to want £25 a year which seems a bit much. Anyone got any suggestions as to who I could use, there's loads on the net that are a lot cheaper but I don't like using my cards on line to companies I don't know.

I've used 1&1: http://www.1and1.co.uk for the last couple of years with no problems.
If you just want a domain name that will forward onto your ntl webpage, then it'll cost you £1.99 a year for a .co.uk address

Seconded.

I must have about 20 different domains now - all with 1&1. If you move host, or buy some more webspace you're in full control of it, and can move it at leisure.

Other registrars are known to charge £10+ per year, and then want a fee for moving it!!!

Agree 1&1 are good the domain name will cost a few quid for a couple of years. then you just foward the NTL homespace to the domain,
the only problem with NTL is they only offer 55meg of space and that soon runs out.

I have 850meg with 1&1 and its cost 3.99 per month.

Any questions PM me..

I also use 1&1 and have never had any problems with them. I think they're ideal for all users as there's detailed help pages to explain how to do things from the most basic task to more complicated things as you get more advanced.

I agree with the comments about 1&1, I've recently changed hosting to them, very pleased.
