Excuse the thread title but I have a lovely Cocker Spaniel Bitch ( I can call her a bitch but don't you dare! ) who is almost 4 years old. She is on heat & the poor thing needs to get sorted out asap. If anyone of you out there have or know of someone who has a male Cocker that is still all in one piece then please get in touch because I need to get my bitch laid!

In all seriousness Floozy is in her prime & I'd love to let her have a litter. The male dog owner would as I believe is etiquette have 1st choice on one of the pups. I am NOT doing this for financial gain & am a responsible dog owner so if you or someone you know does have a boy Cocker please help make Floozy a happy girl & create some Albion supporting Cocker Spaniel Puppies (Floozy supports Brighton & so will her pups! She goes mad when we are on TV because so do I)

This, especially if you haven't had them hip and eye scored and heart tested. You do not know what genetic defects that may be passed on from the dame or sire. They may not be apparent in a 4yr old dog, but very obvious in later life (Hip Dysplasia etc).

Thank you for the concern regarding the overbreeding of dogs & the numbers of unwanted puppies, I think that we are responsible enough to take care of ensuring that they are all homed with people who would offer them a stable & caring environment. We intend on keeping at least one of the litter ourselves & already have verbally agreed with some friends that they would home some, well 2 of them so 4 spoken for thus far IF Floozy got pregnant.
She has been given a clean bill of health & has had regular check ups with vets both here & in Spain where we got her. She was from "working" stock & were assured that her breeding was good.
We are responsible dog owners & are not breeding for profit but allowing her the chance to have a litter now as she will be getting "done" within the next year as this is advised for Cockers owing to the dangers of her developing problems later in life if not "done"

Everest, what sort of "accident"? He looks great, I'm sure Floozy would fancy him, then again she fancies just about anything right now with her being in season. If he is still able then I'll send you a picture & you can run the idea past him!

Yes but I already have a dog & she is entitled to a litter. If people go around getting Staffs & dumping them on the streets there is not a lot I can do about that. This is about finding out if anyone has a Cocker that wants some action. That's all. I can't right the wrongs of the world but I can be responsible for the dog I have & any pups she may have.

I have looked into rescue dogs & went along with a friend who homed one but I am just giving the one I already have a shot at having sex which may or may not result in puppies. If it does then I will ensure they are responsibly homed with people who will care for them properly. Most of the dogs I see needing rescuing are Staffs & I for one don't want a Staff. Irresponsible idiots who view dogs as status symbols are largely the cause of there being so many Pit Bull / Staff type dogs needing rehomed.

I also don't want to be involved with people who breed dogs for money like on that site Stud My Dog or whatever as I don't agree with it being about money. Anyway this obviously isn't the place for this topic.
