Dog poo, what can I do?

The verge outside the house seems to have a sign by it "Dog's please sh*t here".
Not only does it look disgusting, owners need be more responsible. Got any idea's what I can do about this?

I don't want to be a sad case and have put a sign up, but seriously its not on. It makes me feel sick.

Clean up the poo, follow the owner home, and post it back through their letterbox?

If you see the person whos dog it is, offer a plastic bag.
if they refuse, follow them home and when you know where they live, collect up poo and deposit on their lawn.

Its actually illegal for a dog owner to let its dog shit anywhere, Its a £1000 fine in bylaws..

I and other responsible owners clean up after my dog, You could take photos of the dogs/owners and then contact the council/dog warden..

Strangely the dog warden in Swindon comes under trading standards.

Agreed. You can't actually stop the dog from fouling, after all it's not exactly going to tap you on the leg and say "I say, can we go home now? I really need to use the bathroom." But yes, I always pick up after ours. I also pick up after other people's dogs in our street in case people see the shit and, knowing that we've got dogs, think we're responsible for it. That REALLY annoys me.

Adrian, yes pick up the shit. If the owner is a little old lady then aggressively run after her and shove it in her handbag. If it's a big tattooed bloke bulging with muscles and accompanied by half a dozen pitbulls - chuck it away yourself.
