Does Dick actually want us to go up or is he quite happy for us to mill about in this division until we are actually playing in our new stadium hence not having to strengthen the squad?

He's a supporter, of course he wants us to go up. If nothing else we'll get more money playing in Div 1, although we'll have to spend more as well. Nevertheless if BZ hadn't got injured last year I am convinced we wold have stayed up

Happen to agree with you there although his attitude was quite poor sometimes, that coupled with the appointment of Hinshelwood was our downfall, i hate to say it but if we'd had Coppell from the start...

I'm still not totally convinced Dick would welcome a return to Div 1 until we are playing at Falmer though for his Wallets sake.

I don't see that it will make much difference financially. The big drain on the club's finances, the public inquiry is now gone. Though we would have to spend more on wages in division one, increased TV money & attendances (a bit!) mean I don't think there will be all that uch difference

I am afraid to say that it was Coppell's fault that he wasn't the manager at the start of the season...
