July 9/10/11 2004.

I'm going to go again. Been twice before and it's always a great expirience. Even if you're not a big fan it's something else actually being there and seeing a car fly past at 200mph.

Best ticket to buy is a General Walkabout ticket as it's cheapest. You can't sit in a grandstand but there are plenty of other banks, terracing to sit/stand on for the racing.

£130 for the three days or £90 for just the Sunday.

Loads of :drink:!!

I know CAFC Matt is deffinatly up for it. As is DTES I think. Anyone care to join us?

A weekend at Silvertstone! :jester:

It's a lot cheaper to go and sit by the A23. When a car passes, if you turn your head quickly in the opposite direction at just the right moment it will look just as if it was doing 200mph. And for free!

Doh! Why didn't I think of that! :shootself

By the same token we could watch football for free down the park but we decide to shell out on watching the Albion. :salute:

I went on a visit to Silverstone last year, and walked round all the garages. I thought it'd be brilliant, but it was the pits.

Bought tickets for the other half and son to go for all 3 days this year - spoilt or what. I shall party while they are away. Son well into F1 - spent his work experience week with the Renault test team! Anyone else bought such extravagant prezzies?

i would, but its way too expensive!!!! 90 quid for one day of sitting on a bank and watching what, 2 hours of racing?? not for me, when you can watch in the comfort of your own home, turn the bass up and play very loudly for free!

I went once. Never again. f***ing rubbish and a total rip off. Your £90 will basically buy you one of the worst views on the track.

F1 is over priced, hideously so . . . .for example . . . . . . .
Spa Last September, we saw 30's. 40's and 50's F1, 50's 60's and 70's sports cars, GT cars, saloon cars and late 60's early 70's F1/F5000 which is faster and scaryer than modern F1, and takes considerably more balls to compete in than modern F1 . . . .all this was over a weekend, it was free to get in, the scenery is amazing, the atmosphere laid back, you can go and watch anywhere, within sensible reason, the pits are open, the beer is cheap, the food fantastic.

unless you are extremely rich/stupid or just damn lucky F1 is best watched on TV and down the pub !!!

of course if the HSCC get my series as a support race I'll be there like a shot !!! :lolol:

Ditchy . . . .try and stay in a place called Malmedy . . . .3 miles from Spa, great bars and restaurants, and cheap. but Id book months ago If I where you !!!

where's the best place to buy these general walkabout tickets then?

BAG, It's not just two hours though. There's a full day's racing. Loads of motorsports take place before and after the F1 events.

Simster, you need to know where to go! If you go on the Luffield corner you get a great view and see a lot of the track.

F1, yeah it expensive but it's so much better being there than watching it on TV. On TV you don't appriciate the sounds, smell and speed!
