[Albion] Does anyone remember the first Stephen Ward?

I'd appreciate any knowledge or memories of him.

Of course, it's very hard to Google him as all the search results are taken by info on the current Stephen Ward.

Did he play for the first team? Seagulls! A History of... doesn't seem to have any record of him. What era?

yes, I don't think he made an appearance for the first team, but being a keen youngster at the time, I watched a fair amount of mid-week league reserve fixtures. He probably would have been ok in the old Div 4, but just didn't quite have the ability for the level Mullery had us playing at. He was sort of ungainly in movement.....

He was never going to displace Horton, Piper, Clark or any of the other midfielders around that time.

He didn't play for the first team. All I know about him is that he was a reserve or apprentice in the mid to late 1970s and was no relation to Peter Ward.

I can remember him being at the club only because of the other slightly more famous Ward. As you say he never made the first team & I didn't see him play for the reserves.
