I have no concrete plans, its just my own thoughts at the moment contemplating what to do, but I have been thinking is it possible to transfer during undergraduate studies to another country at a foreign university?

At the moment nothing will happen, because I no nothing about the system and what organisations I need to approach, plus its late in the year to apply for the next academic year, but could anyone help me out what I need to know if I want to transfer to a university abroad?

I've been having North America in mind.

Edit: title dont make sense, but you understand what im trying to say...

There is effectively nothing approaching a standard way to change college cross-border mid-course. You can however do some of your studies in another country in Europe under a scheme who's name escapes me right now.

However - US colleges care solely about how much money you have or can make them. Based on your threads on here, I suspect you've got large debts from gambling not large stockpiles of cash to buy your way in... Theres also no student loan system like the UK. You'd also need to get a visa - which would likely prevent you from working, so... have you got that stockpile of cash?

As a full fee paying international student, are you loaded?? I don't think you realize how cheap education is in this country! Unless of course you show reasons for receiving a grant of some description.

If you want to transfer overseas (specifically USA) you'll have to have money! Not to mention a passport and willingness to go through student visa applications...

There's an international exchange programme available to UK students studying at one of the following institutions:-

Napier University, University of Central Lancashire, University of Chester, University of Huddersfield, University of Plymouth, University of Strathclyde, University of Sunderland, University of Ulster - Belfast, University of Ulster - Coleraine, University of Ulster - Jordanstown, University of Ulster - Magee.

There might be other schemes as well.

As guidance on fees, UK students on the ISEP programme are paying something like $15,000 - $25,000 a year for tuition, accommodation and inclusive meals.

Study in USA: College Tuition Fee, Education Cost & Student Living Expenses

Expenses, Tuition Fee & Living Costs

US Universities fall under two major categories: public (state supported), and private (independent) institutions. International students’ tuition expenses at state schools are based on nonresident costs, which are still usually less expensive than those of private universities. It’s important to note that the cost of a program in a US school does not necessarily affect its quality. A brief idea can be got from the following table:

University Type Average Tuition Fees
(annual in U.S. Dollars)
Private Institutions (High Cost) $ 25,000
Private Institutions (Low Cost) $ 15,000
State Institutions (High Cost) $ 20,000
State Institutions (Low Cost) $ 10,000

The tuition fee is different for different universities and varies widely with courses. It can vary from as low as $ 5000 a year for state universities to as much as $ 30000 per annum for some private universities. For more specific details, please contact the universities.

Living Expenses

The approximate annual living expenses are about $10,000, which includes accommodation as well as other daily expenses. However, the expenses are different for different people depending on the lifestyles and this is just a rough idea. The main expenses can be split up as:

Rent $ 400 per month
(you can live alone with that amount in a place like Auburn or share an apartment with 6 people in NY)
Groceries $ 100 per month
Utilities $ 100 per month
Phone $ 100 per month
Sundry $ 200 per month

So, about $1000 per month is a good estimation. Most people can survive with $700-$1000 a month. The key here is to share apartments/houses so that you save on the utilities, fixed charge portion of phone and to some extent on groceries.

The Erasmus scheme I think is what MYOB was referring to, it lets you study part of your degree somewhere else in Europe at a cost that's actually vaguely affordable.

On another point though I must take issue with tedebear saying education's cheap here - almost £20,000 worth of debt says it's not!

I'm studying on an exchange in Oklahoma this year and needed to prove I had $10000 to get a visa. If you wanted to study and get a degree from here you'd need to prove you have access to enough money for the whole program which is roughly $130000. And you can't get a job over here.
