It was superb. One of the best episodes of NuWho going in my book.

Anyone who seriously think Smith is better than Capaldi needs their head checked. It's so much darker and more grown up now and PC is superb.

Matt Smith is my favourite of the 'new' Doctors (and my second favourite of all after TOM, I thought he played the part really well, especially in the specials at the end of his generation. Peter Capaldi has suffered from the same problems as Matt Smith (ie terrible first series scripts although Matt also had to make do with being completely dominated by his assistant ) so I'm hoping Saturday's episode is a sign that the scripts have been significantly improved throughout the entire series.

Sadly no. It's all in my MEMORY And after all these years I can still see it in my mind's eye. Strangely I couldn't tell you half of what I did yesterday

I loved it !! The references's to past episodes , the older versions of the Daleks mixed in with the new, Missy's brilliant one liners, especially her explanation of not being dead and her indignation that Davros was the Doctor's arch enemy and not her.........This programme gets better and better.I watched it with my 7 year old he loved it.He didn't get all the references, but he certainly knows who Davros is and has seen Genesis of the Daleks on DVD. The best thing about watching something when you are young and then watching it when you are 15 years older is the amount of 'oh yeahs' that come out as you suddenly get a lot of the stuff that initially went over your head as a child....Adam West as Batman is a good example of that. Loved it as a child, love it so much more as an adult.

Well that was pretty fantastic.....apart from the resolution, I guess which was a bit poor imo. Kind of wish they'd played the episode straight without the twist at the end, no matter how out of character. Still, all bodes well for future episodes.

Yes, I would have preferred that the Doctor had to make a choice to stop Davros at the start. That would have created a paradox which could then have played into the whole season. That aside, that was a very good episode.

The theme of the series could be a timelord hybrid, with this story pointing towards a dalek/timelord race, but that could well be misdirection. It could well be a human-timelord hybrid, with in my opinion the doctor possibly already being one.

Lots of plot potential. Good stuff.

Ooh blimey, I completely forgot that part of the episode. Intriguing to the max.

Thankfully the concluding part was rather good after a meh first episode. Nice to get a bit more out of Davros than the usual right hand poised over a switch mumbling the usual " Goodbye Doctor/ Planet Earth/ Time Lords " etc. Missy is wonderful as The Master although becoming a little soft and sentimental for a sociopath / psychopath these days. The conclusion, with the Dalek Slime destroying the Daleks was pretty poor as nasty spiteful evil Dalek slime would happily kill everything including Time Lords and Doctor's assistants. Ah well you can't have everything, but nice touch with the " Mercy " .

The hybrid idea sounds interesting but not sure how they'd make it work if it was actually to appear in the series - as a humanoid with a particular flair for ruthlessness (and possibly an eyepatch) or maybe a Dalek shell with more of a Charles Rennie Mackintosh feel than is usual? The Daleks/Davros already seem to know almost as much about time travel etc as the Time Lords so just not entirely sure how it would develop. Could be interesting though. I still keep hoping for a series big bad to be Omega though
