So, away from Southampton for a second, and at the risk of being called a complete loser (bothered)...

That was a bit bloody good, wasn't it?

Is it too early to start guessing at what'll happen? Is River the astronaut? Is Amy her mum? What get out will they use to save the main man? Am I about to be fixtured?

No, no, no, timey-wimey stuff and no. IMO like

I thought it was above average, took a while to get moving but was much better than most of the stuff we got served last season.

Yep it was excellent. My guess for what it is worth is that the astronaut is a child version of River Song and Amy has just shot her. What happens next is anyones guess!!!

I reckon

- River is the astronaut
- Amy is River's mum (Pond, River etc....)

As for how they get out of the Doc being dead, I don't know but I can't wait to find out. Also, will be interesting to see what role that Tardis-esque thingy from The Lodger has to play in it all. I read somewhere that in Episode 12 we get to meet "an old acquaintance with a new face", so presumably he/she will factor into this whole thing too.

Of course, there's also the episode "The Doctor's Wife" to fit in (some woman called Idris, apparently).

The master must return at some point.

Is it possible Amy has just shot her own daughter?

Didn't Amy say, in the brief preview of next week, that she was sorry for trying to kill her? So she probably missed?

The gun's a big clue though - the Doctor's one big no-no has always been guns; if he was going to really choose his own death, would he really go for being shot? Methinks not.
