Why don't you idiots realise that the directors don't give their money to the club! They loan the club money. As with any business, any money you loan to the business you can take out the business. Dick Knight can take out his millions any time he wants. However he couldn't just take out a couple of million because it would mean stripping the club of all its assets something i doubt big Dick will do. He is obviously waiting untill Falmer in which he will hope the club will finally make a profit and he can get his money back.

Yes,I have faith in the board, and have heard of no alternative . Perhaps the thread starter will put his multi-millions in?

Wilkins was never a manager, and I wasn't alone when I was pleased he was dismissed.

And Adams? He was left to try to rebuild a professional squad, and is trying to do it.Course,it's football management, and he could be out of a job at any second.Just like all other managers ,really.Chelsea have got through a couple, the last one allegedly one of the best in football. And I expect somebody on here will be able to say how many managers have lost their jobs this season;get out your abacus!

But I think this board knows what it is doing, and I think we will squeak out of relegation and do a lot better with a more mature and balanced squad next time.

And a bit off subject, but do other away supporters feel we play far,far better on our travels,in proper grounds with proper atmosphere? Teams coming to us play at Withdean once a season in the league, but we have to play in these dire surroundings every other game.Must be soul destroying for our players, and I fear it shows.

So the board is good.Get Falmer, and get moving.

That looks like a bizarre perspective you have going on there, but I realize it's all just opinions on here.

From the top - the thread doesn't ask for opinion based on your ability to "put your multi-millions in", and money certainly does NOT make ANY board trustworthy or more capable of grounded decisions. FACT.

Adams is "left trying to rebuild...." ?? Is that a huge struggle for him, with a tangibly successful outfit that had the reality of some of our youth structure actually garnering some rewards (that Wilkins had nurtured). This was just one full season since Wilkins took over a squad bereft of any esteem, and possessing little if any hope for the future.

You suggest the squad is less than mature and balanced.... but will be under Adams' management? Evidence of that suggestion is to be found.....WHERE? ???
Evidence so far suggests that his management is wanting, somewhat. If he needs a squad of better players to get anywhere, that actually suggests that Wilkins really overachieved with the players he had! (we could have done better last season actually, had we not dropped some careless points in a couple of matches).

If our players are remotely excused for Withdean's shortcomings - then why aren't visiting sides affected by it? Their fans are shuffled away so far from the pitch, the lack of atmospherics something unusual for them but not us.
Didn't Adams have the same situation last time? He did, and it wasn't a problem then, was it? Soul destroying for our players? - I don't think so.

I'm not advocating mass resignations from the board, but I do think they are accountable to us morally for their decisions.

I'm also not without sympathy for Micky Adams. The current situation must be soul destroying for him and I'm not sure that the instability caused by him departing now (if that were to happen) would have any effect other than digging the hole we are in even deeper.

My principle gripe is that I feel that there have been a number of issues where the board and officials of the club seem to that us for granted, make bad decisions or offer a poor service to us and yet there never seems to be any admission of responsibility or real explanation given.

My challenge to a duel is in the post. Wet fish or rotten fruit, the choice is yours.

(No offence, Richie).

Dandyman, be sympathetic as it's an easy mistake to make. You and Mr Morris are both sharp-suited regulars on GDC trips.

I can remember all our chairmen back to Brighton's dry cleaning tycoon, Eric Courtney-King. Uncle Dick has made a couple of mistakes (unsurprisingly) but I rate him as our best chairman by a long way. If you want to discuss a chairman who had a contemptuous attitude towards the supporters, look no further than Mike Bamber.

At this moment in time I have no faith in the board. I want to know the real reason why DW was sacked, I know a through bits and bobs with what happened. But it isn't enough to geniune sack a manager who was still learning the trade and got us to Seventh in the league. This season has been a total nightmare and the board haven't acted quicker in trying to keep us up next season. MA, White and Booker have to go, so a new man can save our season and bring in his own coaching staff. Because at this moment in time we're going down....

Thanks for Man City, Crewe and Southend. Now, let's move forward.

To anwer the original question: Yes, but not YES WOOO HOOOO YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH THEY'RE BRILLIANT!

In other words since the Wilkins sacking, to quote Man Of Harveys, I've found I love the Albion a little bit less. And like for some others the events of this week have finally persuaded me that it's time for Knight to step aside as chairman. He will ALWAYS be an Albion legend and he will always have my total respect for what he did for our club, but I do feel he's a bit like Churchill in 1944 - great hero but not the man to lead us forward. By all means let him stay as a Director and shareholder and let's make him the club president, but I do feel he's not quite on the ball any more and his pronouncements and decisions are getting a little erratic. As an aside I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Martin Perry becoming Chairman, but that's just a personal opinion.

For far too long, we have had a Chairman, who is doing two quite different jobs;.......

1) Chairman of BHA.....and all that that entails.

2) Chasing the dream of a new stadium.

For a man of his age, it is clearly too much. In the end, he may well fail at both jobs.

He needs to move aside and concentrate on the stadium.

That sums it up very well. And for those that say who else. The answer is to appoint a proper chief exec to run the club and be the face of the board.
