On the whole I like our board. They manage the club in much the same way that I think I would if I were in their shoes. In other words they are amateurish, disorganised, arrogant and prone to regular cock ups. But their hearts are in the right place. I do get the impression that they all feel a bit too comfortable in their seats though, as I would also if I had ploughed my cash and 10 years of my life into the Albion so I can’t really blame them. I don’t like a lot of what they do, and I fell out of love with them over their treatment of Dean Wilkins, but I’m not yet close to wanting them out so I guess that means I still have some faith in them. But can they please sack Ken Brown along with Adams, White and Booker (again) please.
Spot on with bells on.

It's not yet a major fight, still lots of points to play for and we are hardly mired in the bottom 4. If we are 3 points down at the bottom, then it is a major fight. Sorry, just don't like all this over hyping...

IMO we are of of probably 7 teams that could go down. We have to play and beat Orient and also play some of the better teams in the division before the end of the season. If we don't have the mindset to treat that as a major fight ("No one said we had to avoid the bottom four in February") then I think we could sleep walk into relegation.

Are you mental? It is mid Feb, we are in the relegation zone, our manager is a dead man walking and the players have forgotten how to win. Our season is going from poor to worse while clubs around us are starting to fight for their survival, how can this NOT be a major fight? An attitude like yours will guarantee us League 2 football next season.

Sorry Clipped but Knight was the major player behind Wilkins getting the chop.He put it to the board and they backed him.

So it was a Board decision, exactly as CG said.
How else do you think items are brought before a company board or any other type of governing body, committee etc? Somebody puts it before the meeting, it gets debated/discussed/amended and a conclusion is reached. It's not a question of individuals being backed, it was a collective decision by the company management team.

No.

I thought all our prayers had come true with a huge ALBION connection within the club and Falmer on the way and we were all pulling in the same direction then Dick gets his hair a bit ruffled and loses all common-sense,What is it with Knights and throwing all their toys out of the pram.

How can we have faith in one of the biggest cock up's of all time, it's not so much the results that Mickey has had it's just the way Wilkins a LOYAL man to the Albion was treated,i am still unable to see what the board were thinking of i think it was Dicks ego that got in the way here and that should not be happening when you are a PROFESSIONAL football club.

Mind you i could still get my belief in them if they learn by it and reinstate Wilkins.

A proper explanation for Wilkins sacking would,at least, be a gesture of respect toward fans rather than the "we know best" attitude than seems to exist now.

Why - Its none of your business.

I mean, how would you feel if your ex-employer made the reasons for your dismissal public knowledge. I suspect more than a bit disgruntled.

For far too long, we have had a Chairman, who is doing two quite different jobs;.......

1) Chairman of BHA.....and all that that entails.

2) Chasing the dream of a new stadium.

For a man of his age, it is clearly too much. In the end, he may well fail at both jobs.

He needs to move aside and concentrate on the stadium.

which is why Martin Perry is now solely in charge of the Stadium build now rather than running the club on a day to day basis.

I regard all of us, as fans, as "stakeholders" in the Albion. Unless there is a compromise agreement or something of that nature in place, then I think we do deserve to know in at least general terms.

The reasons for sacking someone are not confidential (unless subject to agreement) and I spend a week earlier this year explaining to an Employment Tribunal exactly why the organisation I work for dismised someone (we won the case btw).

Wenn wir eine Schande am Samstag sind, sollte das Board geschossen werden und Micky zur östlichen Frontseite geschickt werden.

Presumably because the former employee felt they had been unjustly treated by their employer and not because one of your company's customer stakeholders felt they had some right to know? Sure, if an individual takes this course of action then the full details of the case may well appear in the public domain if it ends up at an ET but Dean Wilkins hasn't done this.

How many more times is someone going to ask this?

Read my lips. There is a confidentiality agreement that both parties signed which commits both parties to NOT disclosing the reasons.

No matter how many times you or anybody else asks they are not going to tell you.

And quite right too.

I will always worry about people in positions of power.
There's no precedent to suggest that they can make better decisions than anyone on any street. Actually, due to the corruptible nature of such positions there's a better chance they will make worse - and yet actually consider themselves superior at making decisions or knowing what to do, and even revel in their self-importance.

Are the board of any football club, any smarter than a regular fan scraping his shekels to get a ticket for match-day?

Yes,I have faith in the board, and have heard of no alternative . Perhaps the thread starter will put his multi-millions in?

Wilkins was never a manager, and I wasn't alone when I was pleased he was dismissed.

And Adams? He was left to try to rebuild a professional squad, and is trying to do it.Course,it's football management, and he could be out of a job at any second.Just like all other managers ,really.Chelsea have got through a couple, the last one allegedly one of the best in football. And I expect somebody on here will be able to say how many managers have lost their jobs this season;get out your abacus!

But I think this board knows what it is doing, and I think we will squeak out of relegation and do a lot better with a more mature and balanced squad next time.

And a bit off subject, but do other away supporters feel we play far,far better on our travels,in proper grounds with proper atmosphere? Teams coming to us play at Withdean once a season in the league, but we have to play in these dire surroundings every other game.Must be soul destroying for our players, and I fear it shows.

So the board is good.Get Falmer, and get moving.
