Yes, of course, but rewarding the best 17-year-old we've ever seen at the Albion with a pro contract would be 1 way to sway some of the doubters. Lose him to another club and a lot more of us will have serious doubts - or worse - about DK.

If Jake is not offered a contract and soon, I will protest in the strongest possible terms to the club. If we allow such a talented young player to slip through our hands because of mismanagement, or a lack of funds, it will be nothing short of scandalous. And, in any case, Robinson will hardly be on the same salary scale as Rooney!

DK has much more to lose by not offering him a contract than by doing so. Who deserves a contract more: Jake Robinson or David Lee?

It's no contest. Look where we were when he took over, and where we are now.

Yes, I wish he trusted us more and was more open with us, and he sometimes make mistakes-just like all of us.

But he brought MA and BZ to this club, he brought us back to Brighton, and restored a stable financial foundation, and he's brought two championships to the club. If we get Falmer, he takes more credit than anyone else. He's also a real supporter, he's Brighton till he dies.

In moments of doubt, just ask yourself honestly, "Could I do this job anywhere near as well as him?". I know I couldn't.

Dk has been synomanus in Brightons rise from the ashes. Without him, we would not have a club, would the Brady consortuim have done any better? I doubt it.
When he delivers the staduim (the most important thing in our history, regardless of trophys) he will be the man that saved the Albion and rise to 'legend' status.

Mr Knight has done a wonderous job, the only question is once we are in the new ground and a wealthy investor comes along, will DK ever relinquish control, would you after 6-8 years of battles to get the staduim? - er think not.
In that case, he will need more financial backing as we do not have the funds to ever go beyond the 1st Division, and I know there is plenty of people on here that will not like that.

f*** em.

I expect Knight to retain a controlling share in the club and I would be more than happy for him to be our Chairman for years to come.
In my eyes he is a hero and anyone that says otherwise is a f***ing idiot and I don't care who i insult saying that, its the truth.

If investors want to come in then i welcome them but i'd much rather have a fan in control than someone else who is in it for the money.

The 12 people who voted 'no' are currently not on NSC as they're busy smashing stones to get the blood out of them or playing with lumps of lead trying to turn them into gold.

Has DK been 100% whiter-than-white, spot-on, perfect? No of course he hasn't. He has made mistakes and maybe he over-sold the club to the likes of Taylor and Coppell. ("Falmer is about 18 months away, just a few planning details to iron out"). However in my lifetime of following the Albion he's easily been the best chairman, none of the others come close. On the face of it that might be a bit harsh on Mike Bamber who was in charge during the 'Glory Years' - but they came at a price that contributed to the arrival of Stanley and Archer.

People's objections to DK appear to be based soley on the fact that he's not a multi-millionaire and doesn't want to sell the club to one.

I totally agree chappers, I wouldnt want anyone to take over the club, Iam just pointing out that some people may feel aggreieved over that, especially the likes of FG and E Block Ernie.

Does that not give DK total 100% control, that I believe he said he would never let anybody have? - just an interesting question, I know he is a fan and loves the Albion.

Yes, without a doubt.

He got us back to Brighton and is the only chairman in our history to successfully get planning permission for a new stadium (despite loads of others talking about it)

Oh and in response to the "We need new players dig deeper MR Tight" - We're second in the bloody league! Leeds bought loads of new players over the last few years and look at the shit their in now.

!) Lets not forget these managers had not had a good time until we got them in and thankfully they done the buisness and it could have easily swung the other way,so that was pot luck as it is with any manager.

2) Getting us to brighton would be prority in any chairman end of story.
This stadium crap has gone on for 6 years now which is a rather long time in my book.

3) O yeah and championships where done by the managers not the chairman as these managers had fu-ck all budget and we was fortunate.

4)If we was still in the 3rd what would you say mmmmm?

5) I have my views and feel knight is well overated although i respect the man,but he does do things a funny way sometimes.:drink:

A number of points covered there:

1) Yes the managers he appointed may have been down on their luck but he had the balls to hire them and the nous to persuade them to join us.

2) Getting us to Brighton permanently was and is his number one priority. The planning shit has gone on for 6 years? 2 years at Gillingham that we couldn't get out of, planning permission and NIMBY hassles over Withdean. Planning issues and NIMBYism getting in the way of Falmer. He managed to get the Falmer issue included ina public referendum which is so vital to everything else connected with our new stadium. How would you have done things any differently? You clearly do not understand how complicated this stadium bid is-it's not like asking the council if it's OK to put up a shed or conservatory for f***'s sake!

3) Without DK's appointments of these managers we'd still be hanging around in 97th place in the league.

4)What would I say if we were still in the third? In case you haven't noticed we are in Div 2 having had an excursion into Div 1. Currently sit in 2nd place in Div 2 for the second time in three seasons...just what the f*** has Dick Knight got to do to have some support from some of you people.

5) Explain again please how he is so over rated 'cos I'm dying to know-NOT!

I am 100% behind Dick Knight and I can't believe this is being questioned. I know sometimes we are the last to know as once again we are all anxiously waiting to find out who our next manager is, But he has never failed to deliver!!!

Dick Knight is the best chairman we've ever had. Put quite simply, he's delivered everything he said he would and more. He saved the club; returned us to Brighton, presided over us winning back-to-back silverwear; appointed 4 very good managers ( ok 2 poor ones); re-built the relationship between board and fans, and I believe he will take us to the promised land of Falmer.

All those who knock him - answer this.. who or what's the alternative?

What sort of Daft question is this for a thread, look for what or where he has got the Seagulls back to. Soon we will be a 1st division side rather than a good 2nd division team.

Can I also remind people what state this club was in prior to Sir Dick coming in to the rescue!!!
