I Quit 2 months ago, got a bit worried looking at all those people on telly with cancer etc... OK, a lot of people might think that is sad, but I have to say, I feel really good now, look like shit probably, but feel good. Have more money, and I don't mind people smoking near me, next to me, at the football in the seats around me, in the same room etc. Each to there own, and having smoked for 20 years, I can hardly get on my high horse about it.
Still, if anybody is wavering, give it a go, the first two days are a shit, the first two weeks are hard, but after that it really does get easier, but you have to want to give up, not just think it would be a nice idea.
Anyone go to the BodyWorlds exhibition? You could tell which of the 'exhibits' had smoked instantly. The guest book was full of people saying 'I'm never smoking again!' and similar comments.
So, good work Staffs. Never put a ciggy in my mouth personally (or any other orifice, before anyone with a filthy mind suggests so).
I started regular smoking at a late age and agree it is not good for you. However the more the anti smoking Zealots increase their campaign and the more restricted it becomes it is making me MORE DETERMINED to carry on doing it. Therefore their campain is having the exact opposite effect to what they want. This nanny state is pissing me off.
People have free will and if given all the facts they want to smoke let them.
I started at 16 smoked for years and then managed to quit 12 years ago.
I've not looked back since. I do have every sympathy with anyone trying to give up because it is hard but stick at it. It is worth it in the long run and you save loads of money.
