and the result?

Mine was a League Cup night match in Sept 76 (had to google the date)

We were division 3 and West Bromwich Albion were 1st division

A fabulous 0-2 with Wardy scoring 2

Fantastic memories and if anyone can find a video of the goals you’d make an old man very happy!

Hmm. The first one I can remember (which is not necessarily as the first one I attended) is the 83 game v Liverpool.

Chelsea away lost 4-0 in the FA cup replay, 1965 I think, went on a coach from Worthing, it was full when we got there and could not get in at first, then some dads managed to 'open' a gate at back of the shed and we all
Got in, it was packed, did not really see a thing at the back, but great experience for a youngster.

Walsall away in the cup. We kept drawing with them back and forth, under the M6 obviously went for the glamour tie! Late 70s??

I think mine was the snowy London Road at Peterborough! 2-2 - one of the strangest, most exhilarating and, with hindsight of terrible tragedies to come, the scariest football match in terms of crowd safety/over-crowding!

I think I've only done 2 (excluding the semi final at Wembley a couple of years ago).

v Plymouth in the Zenith cup where we won on penalties.
v Liverpool in the FA cup where we drew 2-2

I'm not entirely sure which one happened first.

Me too. And it's a game that's stuck in the memory ever since.

Aldershot - 3rd Round 1967. Went on a steam train (I vaguely remember - or certainly a very old one !) - raining all day. Rumours match was off, but it was eventually on and a 0-0 draw. The replay prize was the home tie with Tommy Docherty's Chelsea. I think there were over 12000 at Aldershot that day.

West Ham away. Tevez made us look like a pub side.

*edit, that's almost certainly not true (about it being my first cup away, Tevez definitely did make us look like a pub side) but it's the earliest I can actually remember despite going to games since about 1993.

JWL . 31 years after my first game at the Goldstone.

November 2000, Aldershot 2, Albion 6. The one when the FDM caught the ball and stepped back over the line, then got a bit upset when the goal was given

Ditto. First time I had seen a stretcher on wheels used when Cooke (I think) was taken off injured.
