Many years ago I worked with Ian Chapman's then girlfriend and drank with Stuart Tuck's brother. Lost contact with both though.

To help the OP though Johnny Byrne is quite chatty on twitter and follows back, shouldn't be too hard to hook up with.

PLEASE COMPLETE QUESTIONNAIRE

http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/103255PKGJB

Hi, I am a third year student on a Sports Development degree and am currently working towards my dissertation. I would be hugely greatful if you could take a very short amount of time to complete my questionnaire.

Title of Project: ‘Exploring fans’ perspectives of the role of finance in English football: assessing three main factors’.

Name of Researcher: Alice Bowden

You are being invited to take part in a research study. Please take time to read the following information before you participate in the study. The purpose of this study is to collect and understand the opinions of English football fans of the role of finance in the game. The role of finance in this sense means how important it is to the game and what impact it has, most importantly on football fans. Finance will be split into three sections; sponsorship, ticket prices and media and broadcasting, these are also the three major forms of revenue (money made) by football clubs in England. Football fans of any league club in England are important and beneficial to the study and a range of clubs from different leagues within English football will be particularly useful.

Participation in this study is voluntary; it is completely up to you to decide whether you would like to take part or not. You are also free to withdraw from the research at any time. By completing this questionnaire you are agreeing to your responses being used in this study, all answers will remain anonymous and all data gathered will be securely stored and disposed of on completion of the study. Please do not continue if you are not happy for your responses to be used. Please only complete this questionnaire if you consider yourself to be an English football fan and are 18 years old or above.

Thank you in advance for your participation and cooperation.

If you have any problems or queries, please contact me on: A.Bowden@2011.ljmu.ac.uk

i 'know' teddy maybank from drinking in the albion on church rd and chatting to him about chelsea , he saw me walking along carrying something heavy a couple of years ago and stopped and dropped me off in his van.

Did he fall over at any point, alcohol related or not?

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. I am hoping to do an interview with someone (not sure which one) mentioned on this thread - if you happen to see the ex-Albion player you know please ask them if they're up for an interview. Much appreciate all the leads.

John Piercy is the PE teacher (or whatever they are called these days) at Ocklynge Junior School in Eastbourne. I don't know him personally, but my niece often helps out there with various sporting activities.

John was running a kids Sunday football team in Eastbourne the season before last, one of my sons was playing in a match against his team, I had a chat with him after the match and he told me he was working in a school.
Very nice bloke.

No but I did spend an afternoon playing football with Steve Fosters son at Southwick Football club one afternoon back in the late 90's. Be interested to see if he ever made it as he was bloody handy. His dad was a gent too

Elliott Bennett. I was friends with his brother Kyle and I went to school with their sister. Always been a top guy, complete opposite in terms of character to kyle.

I was at Wolves with Dan East (former DS Keeper) for a short time. I'm a goalkeeper too so we used train quite a bit together.

I see Craig Davies in Telford from time to time. Know him a little from a friend of mine who was his best friend at school.
