Does anyone make any sort of decent money selling stuff on there?

I need some extra cash and it would seem an ideal and easy way to do it.

But is it actually worth the hassle?

:)

I do. It's no hassle, just list things, do everything by paypal and recruit my eldest child to stick stamps. Taking the stuff to the post office gets to be a bit of a pain in the ass but I have my own mail scales at home so I can weigh/stamp everything here just have to drop the parcels off.

Some weeks (when I list plenty) I have made as much as £500, usually it's about £150/200. Mostly I sell books or computer software I get at wholesale prices from a friend. But selling all my childrens outgrown but still decent clothes and toys makes a small fortune.

It's well worth it, in my opinion.

I did for a while.

It's quite easy to pick stuff up brand new (electronic goods, sportswear, DVDs etc) from a number of sites and then knock the good straight out on eBay for a profit.

However the seemingly endless trips to post offices, banks for cheques and getting ripped off by buyers when they take advantage of Paypal offering buyers more protection than sellers took it's toll and I gave it up.

yeah, i made about £75 the other week selling about 10 items. the trick is to limit the amount of times you log on and do stuff. i.e. list all your items in one sitting, wait til they've all sold then get all the addresses at the same time and send them all off together. it's when you have to keep going back and getting one address or send one reply that it gets annoying.
people will buy any old tat tho.
