Nope.

And after losing one child I'm fairly certain I'd find it impossible to cut off contact with any of my other children for any reason.

Bloody hell no. I cannot think of any reason why I would EVER cut off contact with my children. I know people who have, and often (leaving aside divorce when contact is sometimes forcibly severed) it's for the most pathetic of reasons such as the row at Auntie Mabel's funeral.

One of my sons, who was from my first marriage, decided at about 16 to go and live with his dad (in same town). I respected that decision although wasn't happy, and kept in touch with him by text etc. I didn't really see him for about 18 months, and I don't know why - we didn't fall out at all, no arguments. It hurt, but I just had to accept it.
Last summer (aged 19) he got his girlfriend pregnant, and I was pleasantly surprised that he chose to come and see me, to tell me first, before his dad. Since then I have seen lots of him, his girlfriend, and now my adorable grandson.
I would never have said to him that I didn't want to see him anymore, whatever had happened...and I'm glad I didn't make a fuss about it, as now our relationship is great again.
I think though that if you found your child was a murderer/paedophile etc, it would be hard to support them.

There have been times when the kids were going through puberty and really not very nice, I told them that I would always love them, but might not like them very much!!

Have you abandoned, disowned or otherwise cut off contact with any of your offspring?

If so, why?

I've tried, but apparently its illegal cos he's still under 3.

Bloody laws in this country :lolol:

Not deliberately.

When I was 18 I had a fling with a woman in her 30's, who one day just stopped ringing etc. and I just shrugged and thought "oh well, cést la vie" fast forward about 18 months and I bumped into her when I was playing cricket against her husband, anyway, she had a baby with her, who after a bit of a boozy afternoon, she revealed was mine , but that she did not want anything else from me as her other half was otherwise a good husband, Over the years I have periodically bumped into the lady in question, and she rings me every so often to ask things like medical history etc. thast might impact on my daughter.

The Girl is apparently very much like me, in looks, she is left handed, as am I & she is very arty, as am I.

It is peculiar to think that this young woman is out there, with no idea that she is my daughter, and I think that her mother was totally wrong to use me in this way, but I also understand that the urge to be a mother is strong, and she explained that her husband was practically impotent because of taking beta blockers for a heart complaint.

I also have a son aged 12 who I see all the time even though my wife and I are separated. I would certainly not knowingly cut myself off from him, I couldn't.

It looks very sweet now, but wait a couple of years for him to look at you and say "Daddy, did Mummy really want a girl?"!

But you look so similar you could never claim not to be his dad.

I grandson. Eldest son had a bar in Teneriffe and his partner kept going home to see her mother who was ill (?) they sold up and returned to England and had a son one weekend she went to Coventry to see her mother with their son and never came back. She had been having an affair with a chap in Coventry for about 12 months whenever she came home to see her mother.

My son, and indeed my wife and I visited him in a contact centre for about 2 years but my son decided not to carry on as he could see it was tearing the boy in two. We hope that in a couple of years time he will be 16 and want to see his dad.

The sad part is that 6 months ago his mother phoned my mother, who is 87 and blind, via directory enquiries to obtain my mobile number on the pretence that he wanted to speak to us but in fact it was to ask my son to sign adoption papers so her husband could adopt him if they ever wanted to.

I know he goes to watch Coventry so one day in a few years time when we play them I shall put out a call for him at the Ricoh Stadium.

As his mother I can tell you you don't have to put up with the day to day shit. you just get him for weekends, taking him for Maccy Ds and to the sealife centre. You try getting him up for work.
